Does anyone else think that the popularity of the 360 kinda got shot after a few months?

Make a topic little more specific. There are tons of other Xbox360 related topics out there.

People call Xbox360 a "broken system", so obviously something must be wrong with the console if people are calling it broken.

The games aren't too great either, their future release lists don't look any better than their current ones. and biggest blow to the system is probably its limited capability to play old Xbox games. Only few selected xbox titles are playable on xbox360.
Oh and they've already stopped producing Xbox systems. So the only way to play old xbox games would be to buy some used one somewhere.

I really don't see any point of releasing the Xbox360, other than it being a slight upgrade to the old Xbox...
Both Nintendo and Sony is working to make their new console to have something unique and new. Something that will make them qualify as "next gen console".
Xbox360 doesn't have anything like that, they don't even use HD-DVD or any other format.
So what are they trying to pull by releasing a half broken useless $500 graphic upgrade of Xbox? I guess they hoped to make some money by having lot of publicities and being the first to be released among the competitions.

I just hope they're not planning to make another new Xbox to compete with PS3 or something. That would just be sad...

I'm sorry Microsoft, but your new system sucks.

Im srry but im a sony fan and always will be im not really surprised the xbox360 didnt work right away considering how fast it came out and the time they took on it. Really thouigh i cant wait for the PS3 to come out theyre sure are working hard on it.

Xbox 360 is a lot better than some people would give it credit for. While I agree that it sucks that the graphics can only be at top performance while on an HD TV, there is still a few things that Microsoft's got up it sleeves.

They got Hironobu Sakuguchi (The Director of almost all Final Fantasy games.) is producing at least 3 games for 360.

Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is coming out in a few months, pure ownage.

Not to mention Halo 3!

The reason Xbox doesn't have backwards compatibilty is because, unlike the PS2, the system doesn't contain the same components the Xbox. PS2 was basically an upgraded PS1 with some of the same components, therefore it was much easier for backwards compatibilty. Not so much for 360.

PS2 had a pretty bad lineup for it's launch titles, and none of them very good looking either.

So I think it's safe to say that we should be judging them systems about a year or so from now, when the developers are able to fully utilize the power of the systems.

i agee the xbox 360 does suck it was no point of microsoft to release it so early they should have waited like sony and just waited till perfection

I played DOA 4 on it yesterday. The graphics weren't really all THAT good, I mean it looks like DOA Ultimate. I don't really like the system, but I do respect how it does it's online stuff. I don't plan to buy one in the near future, or ever, for that matter. It's not a horrible system, but it's not a good one either. Besides, I never buy any systems on or near launch day anyways, unless it's Nintendo. Not only will you have to worry about getting an actual system at that time, you have to worry if it breaks down. Launch stuff is usually pretty iffy, in terms of quality. I usually wait at least 2 model revisions before buying a new system.

I played Call of Duty 2 and I was amazed with the graphics. But not amazed enough to spend over $400 for it. I never really thought about all the problems with it either. I'm going to have to wait until the PS3 and the Nintendo revolution come out though before I make up my mind.

At first I wanted the system bad, but think about it. The same genres of games (fighting, sports, FPS) and better graphics. Is it worth wasting half a grand on? I'd just stick with my Xbox 'til I see better games and know that the system won't break on me.

Xbox 360 can be cool. It have a lot of new good looking games. However, most of the games are too American for me Shocked

I mean most of the games are like sport and shooting etc... I'm looking forward to PS3 right now. The system will have better graphic and I like they games more.

why will I buy Xbox360? simple XboxLIVE no matter how good the PS3's graphics are it will never have an online gaming like LIVE. But the main console im looking forward to is the revolution. NINTENDO ROX, and why did they screw up the Perfect Dark story?
