lately, i just dont feel like doing anything. not even the things i enjoy or used to enjoy.
such things as watching anime, collecting, playing games, going to work, cleaning and even ASing have lost an interest to me.
i just dont know what to do anymore.
perhaps its because my life is too centered around anime.
ive recently finished watching alot of anime like suzuka and shuffle and others, and im just not satisfied with the endings anymore.
im just not as happy watching them as i used to be. same can be said about the other things i do, i just dont have the passion in me to do anything.
perhaps im depressed?
-but there is nothing for me to be depressed about. at least nothing i can think of.
perhaps i need something in life?
-maybe, i mean, i cant keep doing the things i do forever can i? i need something to look forward to every morning.
perhaps its because i want so much?
- the thought of wanting things, things i can never have and the reality of which is impacting my life is playing a huge part in this...?
for a while now ive been helping others, not just on AS but those around me with their problems, and now its my turn.
i sure hope someone can help me, i dont want this to grip my life.

maybe. like you said, you weren't satisfied with the endings of the anime you just finished watching.

how bout reading a book? something new...not manga or a genre that you really like. maybe a factual one, suspense or romance. just to keep you busy. make sure it's a good book that'll keep you on flipping to the next page. or maybe a sport. that even works to forget bout your libido, what more for your depression.

this can also be a possibilty. expecting too much and get depressed if you wont achieve it. like i said, try something new. to make you forget that expectation or "craving".

I reccomend you make a spiritual journey. Go backpacking into the Australian Bush for a week. Live a simple life. Eat grubs. Dig your own toilet........Get away from all teh modern conveniences.
Meditation could also help. Think deeply about what you NEED in life. What gives your life meaning.

I know two good books to read if you're feeling depressed.
On the Road by Jack Kerouac.
Made me realize that you don't really have to care about much or want a bunch of stuff. Just do things that's fun with people you like.
A Day in Ivan Denisovitj Life by Alexander Solsjenitsyn.
This book follows one man during one day in a labourcamp in Russia (I think). It's written in a really realistic style and it made me feel less depressed because even thou the characters in the book is living under such inhumane conditions they never despair. Even a small piece of bread can make an entire day a good one.
Also you could start saving for a trip to Japan. Even thou it might take ages to get enough money it's good to have a goal to strive for.
Also it's fun to do all the planning and research. Stuff like when to go and where to stay. Don't go during the summer season, I heard it's really hot there.
Bored already? How about death then? That will be the last enjoyment you ever have, and you certainly wouldn't feel bored any more ever again!

BTW, just thought I'd point out that if there IS an afterlife, then you're wrong.
Me?? I think I'll stick with what I've been doing all along: find something I like doing, and stick with it until its no longer entertaining, then find something else to do.
So far, the list of things include: Watching TV, Downloading totally random songs, building models, playing PS2, playing computer games, collectable card games, reading, collecting various stuff, and probably a few other things I've missed.
OR, you can always go visit a shrink or something...

ani-master, i know what youre talking about....ive been there before....
i dont think its depression or anything, maybe you just need a change, what i did, i started doing new things, a change. this had its reasons, its more or less because of who i am, but i wont go into that since its not about me rite now.
i think you should try new stuff, im not saying you should put away everything you were before, but go out there and try new hings, search for excitement in places you are not used to fnd it, and at last but not least, try something that fullfills yourself, first you must find what that is though, maybe its not what you did before, maybe youve realized youre beyond that....sometimes this kind of things have to do with your spirituality, people sometimes start feeling empty because they realize theyve been living a life that doesnt suit their new found ambitions....maybe its that feeling, emptiness for relizing that your spiritual relief is no more...meditate, and try to find the best answer...
some things can just be discovered by yourself _________________ Go to a restaurant and order a chicken and an egg. See wich comes first.

...I'm sorry to say this...but it realy does sound like depression....I'v gone through the same thing.....lack of interest in anything..even in my hobbies...lack of care about anything....always wanting things I dont/cant have.....
All I can say is that it will go sooner or later....just try doing somthing you usualy dont......and feal good about it.....
But please...dont leave A-S...this place is a great place to talk about such things.....it made me feal better.....you know...talking to ppl you are familiar with....but you know...will never actualy meet and probly dont care if they judge you....
hmmm I've been through this kind of apathy before. I would recomend finding a new direction in life and honestly a book isn't the answer that's just more escapism and you seem to be having touble with that right now my advice. Is to find something real to dedicate yourself too this dosn't have to be some great Ideal, just go out and find something you want to do and dedicate you self to it find purpous.
Try Excercising; set a goal for yourself of getting into great shape and go running every day it allso has the added benift of giving you a big high excercise high's are the best
Or maybe try and learn guitar buy one, 50 bucks on ebay and a few books and try and learn to play eventually you'll be great at it
My last peice of adivce is to read a book The Fountainhead and yes I am contradicting my self but this isn't a novel to entertain you it's been acknowledged as one of the most lifechanging books ever written and I mean ever The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand

It seems to me you have wrought upon yourself a depression induced by loneliness.
I noticed among the things you listed doing, you omitted going out with friends or with a partner.
I agree with MrPink's assesment that you should start exercising.
It is no hidden fact that your muscles contain endorphins*, which shoot straight to the brain during a workout.
Also, if you are lonely, it will help improve your physical appearance, and you're more likely to attract that special someone.

maybe you need some change from your usual routine. Or some new goals. You finished high school right? Are you going to uni? Get a new job maybe?
Go out with friends more often. bitch to them about how bad you feel. It should make you feel a whole lot better. trust me, i do it all the time.
If that fails then you can opt to just wallow in your misery. feel good about feeling bad. listen to depressing music, watch lotsa sad sappy romance movies and snack on sugary junk foods. Reading might be a little hard because it takes effort. this strategy is one of waiting. you wait till your depression just miraculously lifts or some external influence helps you out.
Do not touch alcohol. That is a very bad idea. Sad people do bad stuff when drunk.
if you are experiencing a serious bout of depression then ignore what i said about wallowing in sadness. talk to somebody, anybody , even someone on ASource.
The answer lie not outside, but inside..don't go out looking for new things. Find something, and do it..and do it well. Pick up an instrument and play until you play like a pro. Sports are good idea, or art. Just dedicate yourself to something
yeah,try doing something out of the ordinary,like kicking every trashbin
you see in sight in the middle of the night (it help me once) and some vandalism might help.don't get caught doing it though.The thrill of destroying public property and getting caugth at any time .
Or if you just wanna play it safe and follow the rule,do some art or music.

Well, I'am not in a position to give you an advice because I'am just new here and I'am not familiar with older members of this site, but, if you feel depressed, you should tell it to a friend and let it all out because if you don't know how to deal with your problem, there is always your friend willing give you a helping hand.
