I just read in your archive about how you have to have a certain amount of posts to read certain manga, and that you even felt the need to increase the requirements. Screw you people. Most hardcore anime/manga fans don't give a crap about "helping a community" and other such nonsense. That kind of talk comes from people who do just that. Talk. Do you know why fansubbers scanulators like me do what we do? So people can enjoy manga and anime, not so some site can take our work which is meant to be free to everyone, and make it easy to read, but force people to post on your forums in order to read it. You notice fansubbers don't say "If you want us to sub this episode, you need to post on our forum" If a community is actually good, you shouldn't need to bribe people to participate in it. I'll probably get banned for this, but as a person that actually PRODUCES the stuff you guys watch, I felt that I needed to give my heartfelt opinion.

3 things:
1) A-Source does not sub anymore. I repeat, A-SOURCE DOES NOT SUB ANY ANIME. If you have the guts to spout nonsense, then do your research about us. And one thing: We are different from AnimeSource. We got a dash in between and they do not. We do not sub, they do.
2) And we do not host manga because we want to distribute the manga to the people. If we do distribution, we will just zip the file and ask them to download. In the end, the level are being used because of the load on our server. One reason why the manga server are down frequently these last 2 months. If we do not implement the levels, we will be down every few hours just because of the load.
3) If we have any manga we host, we always asked for the group for permission to host them in Anime-Source. If they do not like our system like this, they can reject our offer and we just continue on. If they OKed it, then we publish the manga and upload them painstakingly one by one into the server. If that does not make you happy, then scram!!! Yeah, you are a scanlator, and we do our things to market the manga and the group and you have the guts to bitch like you know this site for a damn long time.
One additional note:
4) I will not ban you since you do not post anything that are against the rules. I am angry at your points, but that is not enough to cloud my judgement as the admin of this site to ban you for this stupid post. We allow freedom of speech here and we let them what they wish as long as they do not go against the rule of posting in the forum. _________________ Innocent Tranquility

In fact I do. Most of them are quite nice people. Educated and well behaved.

We recently removed point from the forums. If you would have read our FAQ, you would have seen that forum post do not give a point anymore. If you want to read a manga hosted here and fail to meet the requirements, there's plenty of other ways.
This is meant as an alternate way to watch manga. As you would have noticed full credits are given when you read the manga, including the website of the scan team. Most of them offer other ways of getting it.
This is a not a manga website. We host manga has part of a "reward" (althought I don't like the word) for active members. We are an anime website. Of course, some people only came here for some manga, some spammed like there was no tomorrow. But in large part, I consider this experience as positive.

You won't be banned. But you'll be ragarded as a shame to a great community. I personally think you do it for the wrong reason if you feel a translation is "spoiled" or whatever by getting hosted here. I mean, don't you want a manga/anime you love to be seen by the most people possible ? Isn't that what drives you ? We use level cap to limit the number of user who can access a manga at anytime. Those level are lowered as time goes, and they finally become public (for the most).
It's a real shame all you could was insult people working hard for free. Working hard to publish something you might even have worked on (but I doubt this). Have some fun kid. Or just work harder if you want to access a manga hosted here.

I don't want to start a huge war, but since you already have an opinion about all of us here on this site, I feel no need to hold back (like I have any reason to believe you'll ever come back).
I don't think you should be all high and mighty about the work you do. You are taking someone else's work, translating, and distributing it. So if ANYONE has the right to complain, it's the manga-kas. I'm not saying the work you do isn't hard, nor am I saying it isn't appreciated by the english-reading fans, but as others have said, the needs of the site and it's server require certain "restrictions."
And quite frankly, I am glad that we are "forced" to participate. This IS a community and I want to see more productive and thoughtful individuals rewarded for their contributions. Only slackers sit back and take stuff for free. We earn our privileges on this site and I wouldn't have it any other way. _________________ GTX: Great Teacher Xeno... my daily blog about teaching in an elementary and middle school in Japan (see right-menu)

Not everyone is able to become a fansubber/translator, that's why they appreciate your work which contributes to the community. You even said it yourself so what's with most hardcore anime/manga fans don't give a crap about "helping a community" and other such nonsense?
It's illegal to pay for free fansubs so do you see us asking members here to PAY for it or donate to us? We NEVER force people to post in forums to read manga. Our goal for hosting the manga is to promote and let fans preview them so they can purchase the manga if they like it. If the situation allows us, we would open all the manga to public viewing but that just won't happen unless we upgrade our server or get a new one. We HAVE to use the point system to control bandwidth usage, look what happened to the manga server after we lowered the levels.
Some of the website staffs use their own money to support the site, i'm poor so all i can do is volunteer to update manga or moderate the forums. I don't get paid for doing this but at least i can give back something to the community after receving so much from it. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine.
I so had you people going. If you really think that any subber would be against having fansubs distributed, you are quite deluded. I thought you guys would catch on at the end when I was like "I feel this in my heart" or something like that. Didn't think you would actually go for it.
Anyways, I was just playing around. I like online reading, and I plan on posting here more in the future.
Dude, I never thought you guys would take it seriously to start with. I figured you would see it and realise how preposterous it was.
Mabey I'm just a skilled actor
PS. Fell free to tell anyone who took me seriously, but didn't read the previous message that I was just joking, as I would prefer not to look like the crazed fansubber from hell.
