would i read manga if it was placed in other country than japan? yes; if the story was good. it doesn't really matter where the manga is placed.
as far as being placed in major metropolitan areas is becasue they are major metropolitan areas and get the most exposure, new york is more exciting than some small village in south east usa _________________ [img:387:120:36cb7a5440]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v98/idjota/BL.jpg[/img:36cb7a5440] |

Umm..I dont really understand your question. I mean manga takes place everywhere from japan to another country to a completely different world/dimension, so yes i guess would read manga that isn't set in Japan... _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!! |

| Me, a shojo fan, so not really. But, if the drawing attracts me, I guess I would give it a try. |

Thats an odd question. Just because a manga isnt set in Japan doesnt mean a few wont read it. And I'm not one of them. _________________ Life is full of truth, but I'd rather live in lies. | Well... im confused... Anyways if i read your question correctly, manga would be boring if it was set in a rural area. It needs some place exciting such as New York, a big city. Manga wouldnt be raelly good if it was like a country area... |

| Gunsmith Cats. Good manga, and it took place in Chicago. Hellsing was also good. |

Who cares where it takes place.....as long as its good and you like it....
....its true that manga/anime stories that take place outside of Japan are rare.....(in fact....I hardly know any....and even the ones I do, take place either in the US or in another world/planet/space...)...
I guess thats why its incredibly hard for ppl who dont live in Jp or US to make a successful manga.......I have the odds staked against me..(~.~)'' |

| I think it doesnt matter where it takes place as long as its good.....take Berserk for instance, its not set in Japan or any other country i could think of, mayb somewhere in europe or somthing, but the manga is awesome |

berserk, bastard, fantasy manga in general don't take place on japan... and they are really good...
but if with your question you mean that mangas that are not written by japanese, there are good plots on other countries... some manga from korea are good, there are some here, on Brazil...

i don't really mind... just so long as it is interesting to read.. doesn't matter where the hell it took place.. it can even be set in hell itself for all i care.. in fact devil and devil would be a note worthy manga with some of its settings not placed in japan.. or any part of this world for that matter.. _________________
