Never watched the Negima anime, so bit hard to get the feeling of it. But thats what i came up with. It looks a bit dull atm. But if you got a nice pic for the yellow part i can add that. Otherwise i have to smack in some random render or something like that.

actually, that looks great... maybe change the yellow to something a shade less bright ( maybe a bright yellow and lighter yellow checker-pattern) and just use all that space for the quote and it will be perfectly what I had in mind. You can also move the logo up a bit and remove the "Negima!?" part.

i guess there isn't realy anyway to make the background transparent so that it will blend with the color of the post background... oh well..

If you want transparant you have to use either PNG or GIF. This one is GIF
Though PNG usually give better quality. But since yours is only a few color it looks well with GIF to. Bad thing about PNG is there big.. and IE 6.0 doesnt support it iirc. Making the background just white than crappy Microsoft. Though think its fixed in IE 7.0.
