Drew this two long ago, about 2months now. was going to throw it into the contest, but I guess posting it here is fine.

Basala, that friend of yours is really, really good... and the first picture of yours ( the pencil work of the two girls ) is very good as well. Like you said, the pencil work version is better than the CG version.

i just love a good line quality. i think if pencil and pen are done with skill, which you and your friend have Very Happy

, then there is some undeniable beauty in the slight nuiances you get from it. to try to get the same nuiances from cg would take so much time to be not worth it. imo, cg is good for looking at on the computer or on the tv. in person, i think the old skool methods *usually* show more beauty.

basala, if you have some watercolor stuff you could post, i would love to see it.

CG is nice but it often looks quite "artificial" due to the nature of the software tools. They are based on mathematical calculations and that doesn't give as much ground for giving a unique feel to your art (unless you are very very experienced and talanted). Using various hand drawing tools like pens, watercolors, etc. is usually much more effective if you know how to use them well.

I have not been painting in water colour much lately, and most old works are half a canada away from me, so I can fulfill ur request. I did post a few on my first few posts here, if u scan trough my posts u can find them.
I agree with what u said about pencil drawings and cgs.

.i think cg would never replace pencil. Your friend is an awesome artist. Starscream is great(love transformers, theyre just so cool how they transorm.) the second picture is from a game right? i forgot what game. i think i saw it from gaming magazine. that one is just amazing to the last detail.

Both you and your friend are amazing in the field of pencil drawing [basala] I love your little ecchi picture, those girls are just so cute! X3 I can't draw quite as good as you-I got a long ways to go. Keep up the CG+show us the original ones as well if you do.

Ha ha, glad you like the echii pics, I draw them time to time. I am not a big fan of the transformer, but you are right. The design and the look of the robots are way cool.

I envy him too. I always make the paper too messy before I even get to the detail.

Here is another CG I did this year.Its of the same charactors(cat and dragon fly girl) and its more echii.be warmed before you see it.

This one was done around July this year. When I compare it with The one above, I see some improvement so I am some what happy about it. The one up there now looks like trash. I used to think that I did a good job...lol

One thing I dont like about this new one is the hair. I have never been able to do a good job with the hair doesn't matter what medium I use.
