| Since I'm a muslim I really want to here about other peoples opinions about muslim related topics. I really dont care I f your not muslim I just want your opinion. I hope this will help some of the muslims and non muslims about touchy subjects. The main reason Im doing this is because in college people are really curious about Muslims, mainly because of whats been happining in the last few years. Also if you have a question fire away. |

I don't know whether I am right in judging this, but really, are you concerned that general Muslims are being discriminated due to the recent events that happened?! _________________

| Generally yes muslims in America and europe are being discriminated against, especialy if there a really small minority. Like at my friends highschool. He gets called a terrorist and people ask him if hes related to Osama Bin Laden or Sadam Hussen |

| I don't care whether you are muslim or christians, or monk or whatever. If you don't offend me, I treat you as human. Otherwise, as animals. |

I'm don't think any worse of muslims than any other religious group of people. I treat most religious people as the same group, and non-religious group as the other. So basically in my mind, there are religious people and non-religious people in the world.
I feel uneasy with religious people. They can be scary... like messed up in their heads... so hostile towards any other opinions that deviates from their beliefs...
So I don't like any religious people, most religious people are such hypocrites.
I don't have any negative experiences against muslims in particular, but plenty of other religions have shown how nasty religious people can be. For example, my aunts who are Jehova's witnesses.
I have a friend who used to be a very religious muslim, but he lost his faith now. He's a great open minded guy. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

OK..... messed up in their heads?! I don't get that part. Hostile against opinions that deviates from their beliefs?! OK, can tell me an example of that?! I really don't get your point in this. Maybe some example can help me understand more about it. And for the hypocrites part, please reply in details on what ground that you have taken to conclude that "most" of us are hypocrites? I felt that it is an unfair accusation to a few of the religious people here.
OK, before you answer, I just want to say that I am asking these few questions not because I wanted to stand on my ground as a religious person. I am just extremely curious on why you have made such comments on that. So please do not feel offended about it. Of course, if you are, I would like to apologize and you do not have to answer that question, silverkitsune. Anyone who agrees or not on any of the points may also post some replies. _________________

if youre not religious, and have very religious friends, its best not to talk about it. there is no point argue people make them change beliefs.
rascists deserve to die, painfully. _________________ "Look at me, with my pretty bracelet and tiara... I'm a fuckin' princess!"

Well i think the Jehovah's witnesses are not the best example They are like sales men.
Well im curious. Koran can be misunderstood or just interpret many ways but there are still some sort of dogmas, beliefs that are always understood in one way. Now what interest me is that how most muslims understand the part which prohibits killing? I can't remember the exact line but if i correctl there was line which said something about defending allahs will (religion).
How you feel about those drawings in danish newspaper?
Do you think islam in too conservative? (covering body, stoning one to dead if he dosen't etc.) |

ok
Hypocritic religious people:
-buddist monks who eat meat anyways, and who'd show violent protests that hurts other people.
-sunday church gathering donations, they spend money on donations every freakin week, and they donate to real needy people like once or twice a year, while their priest lives tax free luxirious house.
-mass suicides in cult religions. no matter what you guys say, religion is religion, and cults frighten me. the members of cult religions are not insane or abnormal people, they are usually very normal and even upstanding members of society takes part in cults. It's astounding how a religion can influence such people to murder their children and kill themselves. A religion that overrides even the most powerful and primal insticts, the instict for self preservation.
-european christianity's past policies, infidels must convert or die. is that what bible tells you to do? if it is, i guess that's not really being hypocrites, you guys were being good christians. "go! kill the muslims! we christians will wage holy war against barbarians and eat their children!" good ol' crusaders... went to "liberate" the holy land from these "uncivilized barbarians" but instead they themselves became the cannibalistic barbarians.
-nicest people I've met are non-religious. overly religious people are often racist, prejudiced, and hates change. cranky old ladies...
-catholic priests... need I say more? "come sit on my lap little boy"
-many religious people feel threatened by any negative comments about their religion. I'd say that's a sign of lack of faith, if you'd feel your faith being threatened by outsiders. If you truely was faithful, why would you care if some infidel said christianity was wrong? he'd be left behind during judgement day while christians would be taken to the kingdom right?
-muslims show too much fanaticism, that scares me. I'm sure lot of people feel uneasy about visiting middle eastern countries because of that. BUT, that isn't hypocritic. Just thought I'd make a comment on the islam as well.
-most religions think they are "good" and rest are "evil". Historically, many "evil" were done by religious groups. I'm sure I don't have to list all such events.
these were just from top of my head
maybe not "most" of religious people are hypocrites. Truth is that you and me don't know what goes on in other people's heads. Only world you can concieve of are what your senses tell you. So, all my senses tell me that religion is a bad idea. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

I once heard this quote...didnt know who said it.....but I have to say I agree with it....
"Without religion, you'd have good ppl doing good things and bad ppl doind bad things. With religon, you have good ppl doing bad things"...
And this quote dosnt only apply to the Muslim faith, but to most (if not all) religons...
But apart from my "atheist basterd views", I realy dont minde wether someone is Muslim or not, I judge ppl by they're personalities...not faith. |

Here is my long time favorite anti-religion quote:
"Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."
Blaise Pascal
Perhaps that's the same quote you were thinking of? _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |
