Who here has heard about the band Nightwish. If you have talk about it over here. I personally thinkl they are amazing.

For future reference, all topics pertaining to music belong in the entertianment section. As for the band, all I know about them is their name and the fact that they released a few CDs in Europe.

I LOVE NIGHTWISH!!

Mixing opera and orchestral music with heavy metal is the one of the best sounds ever. Sometimes I think they can get a little goth-cheesy with their lyrics but I'm still a fan. Am especially in love with "Sleepless Sun".

Bowser: my favorite albums of theirs is Once, Century Child, and Over the Hills and Far Away. The last one has an Irish flair to it that I really like.

My favorite songs were Ever Dream, Nemo, Over the Hills and Far Away, Instumental(crimson Tide), Dead Garden, End of All Hope, and Bless the Child. This just show I really like the band

I liked the band till my taste in music improved...
I like Dead Boy's Poem, Sleeping Sun and Ever Dream most.
I've seen them live in 2003, when they were on Century Child tour in Germany, it was a nice concert and my first one, so it was something special to me x)
Once is the worst album they made... On this album I think the music has no soul... It's just commercial, just made to be sold to some freaky teenies wanna be really "hard" listening to "evil" music... And Tarja also produced some songs with Martin Kesici, the winner of a TV talent show being sold as the "evil metal guy from Berlin"... I think the best step they could do to rescue the band and their music was to separate from Tarja... I wonder if they can find replacement ^^

Then again, I don't think that they do Metal well but I do listen for the Opera voice with Rock. Nightwish are a part of the subgenre of "Power Metal" but aren't real Power Metal like Blind Guardian, Dragon Force, or Kamelot. Their best album as a whole would have to be Century Child. My favourite singles would be Over the Hills and Far Away, Walking in the Air, and End of All Hope.

My friends wanted to go to a concert, but they cancelled for some reason. I also heard that the band fired the main singer, but I haven't investigated at all, so it could be a rumour. I really don't care either way, as I have a fairly large collection of Nightwish that adding anymore would perhaps crush itself against the amount of titles as I wouldn't be able to seperate different songs... This is a problem I'm currently having with System of a Down.
