|
|
When I first tried to convert videos for my iPod, I had to spend many hours looking for the right converter.
After trying out several and reading many guides, I now stick to River Past's Crazi Video for iPod.
I find that converter to be most reliable and easiest to use. Some other converters can be very customizable, but Crazi video is able to auto configure each video very well.
So far, I haven't found any file types that Crazi video fails to convert. It even supports MKV and OGM, with the option to add subtitles or not, and multiple audio support.
Also, Crazi Video can convert several files one by one in a list; which is great for overnight conversion.
If you just bought a video iPod and you plan to convert fansubs into iPod compatible files, I recommend Crazi Video for iPod from River Past.

Videora iPod converter is hard to use for beginners, and only converts one file at a time.
and for some reason, Xilisoft's iPod video converter never works on my converter. It screws up every video files in my computer if I try to use it. Only way to restore my files were to uninstall the program and reinstall the codecs.
Also, Cucusoft's converter is just crap, don't even try it.
Feel free to recommend other converters you find useful. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

I'm sure you can find them on those serial code sites, or download some key generator. I think I did that. Though becareful when you visit those kind of sites, they have the highest risk of virus infection. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

You mean modify it physically? I have no doubt that someone could add some components to nano to make it play videos. But I don't think it can be simply hacked to play videos. Though I think nano already has the good enough screen resolution to play videos too, with lesser quality. But, in my opinion, 1 or 4 GB is just too small to store video files. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

| wow silver ur the greatest, i've been tryin to get some of my wmv files to convert with 3gp and videora and it was giving me a headache, it kept skipping the file. This program is really great, and on top of that it can do mkv and ogm which is like over half of what my animes are in. Thanks alot! |

zugzug >> Great, I'm glad I was able to help you.
Since it was such a nuisance to try out each converter till I found a good one, this will hopefully save the trouble of searching for the right converter.
and yes, the biggest advantage of this converter is the ability to effortlessly convert mkv and ogm and other uncommon file types. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

Calador > You can test it out now. All you need to test is whether your converted file can transfer to iTunes. Anything that's compatible with iTunes is compatible with iPod. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

| Kind of off-topic, but the modifying the Ipod Nano thing, people have been able to load linux and get video's as well as games running on it. Not sure if there are any guides out there or anything though. |

So, it's possible, then?! Cool, you got a site to teach you how to do that? |

| From what I read, you have to install iPodLinux first which you can get at www.ipodlinux.org After that, install the video player which can be found at http://ipodlinux.org/Video_player The video isn't going to be that great of quality and I think you have to tweak it a bit. After installing ipodlinux you can also play games like doom which can be found at http://idoom.hyarion.com/index.php . I don't have an Ipod Nano, so if anyone has anyluck with these, let us know! |
