There are so many RPGs lined up for Nintendo's handheld systems.
First of all, GBA is still going strong more RPGs.
There are already two highly anticipated titles for GBA this year: Yggdrasil Union and MOTHER3. As if you aren't already handsful with GBA's already buff library of recently released RPGs (Final Fantasy, and Tales of Phantasia)...
For Nintendo DS, the flood gate for the RPG has opened this year:
-Remake of Final Fantasy III
-Boktai DS
-Xenosaga episode I+II
-Harvest Moon DS
-Legend of Zelda DS
-Lost Magic
-Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana
-Summon Night
-Tales of Tempest
-and a Ys game in development
Seems like 2006 will be a good year for both RPG players and DS enthusiasts alike.
If you still don't have DS and love RPGs, maybe it would be good idea to pick one up when they release the new redesigned DS in the spring. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]

That's why Electric Gaming Monthly (EMG) called this year "The year of the previews". And I can't wait until Tales of Phantasia comes out! I'm not sure about Tales of Tempest, however. The protaginist looks wierd:

Hahaha that is one of the worst looking main character design I've seen in RPGs. But then again, supporting characters of Tales of Tempest all look very weird.

I also can't wait for Tales of Phantasia. I never finished the game on SNES version, but I hear it's around 90 hours long RPG. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]

Improving the quality is always good. Better than buying half-ass attempted games.
Isn't Phantasia going back to the old fighting system of waiting to attack?
If true I hate that kind of combat, I liked Symphonia a lot better, great game that was.
Still a Tales game coming ot the DS is going to be pretty sweet, and a Harvest Moon game, and a Zelda game, definatly going to buy a DS this summer _________________ Everybody fire at Will! *gun sounds* Now that Will is dead, kill the bagel!

Nope. All of the 'Tales' games had that fighting system similar to symphonia (actually, i forgot what the battle system was called, but hey, i like it).
:Edit:
....Um, sorry kitsune. I'll give you your spotlight now. _________________

Well, by old I mean the kind that most RPGs use, the one where you wait to attack, I heard that that was going to be the fighting system of Phantasia, that true? _________________ Everybody fire at Will! *gun sounds* Now that Will is dead, kill the bagel!

v-boi2002 > BTW about the character designs for Tempest, it might actually work pretty well. Because this will be a game for DS, and it being 3D, having such distinct features on character would be much more interesting on a small DS screen. Most importantly, you'll be able to tell each characters apart from another...

Yea, I know what you mean. I just told you, all 'Tales' games (Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Tempest, etc.) have the same battle system, thank Namco.
So no, Tales of Phantasia won't have that "Wait, pick a command, and attack" battle system like Final Fantasy. _________________

It's true, DS is getting hell of a lot of support from many game developers. Squarenix has been working with Nintendo ever since their FF:Crystal chronicles game, and is releasing tones of remakes and new RPGs for Nintendo systems.
Other notable companies include: Namco, Capcom, Sega
DS is also getting a Tenchu game... I think you control the characters from view above your characters. I don't like the look of that. I want to see close up of Ayame. But then again, DS's graphic capability is only about N64's. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]

I see. So Namco has finally made it so that you can play a 'Tales' game on T.V.
Only it's on a DS size screen! Wait, am I right? _________________
