Heylo! Do any of you know any heavy metal girl bands such as Kittie as an example, I'm really interested, because the rise in girl metal bands is going slooooooooow, and I would like to know what you guys know, fill me in please! lol!

Only one I can think of is the Donnas, but they are not exactly metal. Its more just heavy rock. Besides them nobody comes to mind. Frankly when girls try to scream, its a little hard on the ears. Kittie was tolerable for a while, but after listening to an entire CD my head hurt.

| Nightwish is power metal, which may not be the screaming type of metal you may enjoy, but it is still metal and the lead singer is a woman. |

ok, ok....um lets open this up some more, um name me some girl rock bands and metal bands, I don't know of any others except for the ones previously named, help.......please.

I believe that the lack of replies proove that girls don't do metal. Or at least no one listens to it.

They do... But they are unknown...
There are many metal bands with a woman singing or screaming... Arch Enemy e.g.... It's nice to listen to, you wouldn't think a woman is growling...

how about Sleater-Kinney? they arent metal though. and i havent listened to them before so i cant say whether theyre good or bad.

oh yeah (third edit) and Sonic Youth has a female basist, Kim Gordon, who also writes some of their songs and is lead vocals on some songs. none of these people do metal though |

Kittie was the only one I could think of. A friend of mine used to be friends with them... they're actually pretty normal and nice girls. Their moms travel with them, haha.

Well I dont know any all girl heavy metal bands, but try Guano Apes, they have a female lead singer and they are pretty good. I think most people are somewhat familiar with their song "open your eyes." Sorry to say, or maybe not , but Evanescence sucks more than any other band I know, sorry fans, but Evanescence just isn't my taste, so that one's ruled out (completely), I happened to have found one band Fly Leaf, they're pretty good but...still not quite threre, lets just say not to my full expectations, I like the HEAVY stuff XD lol!

I agree,I wont say they suck but when I hear them I get irritated for some reason.But if any of you like Evanescence,I seriously recommend Leaf Eye or Nightwish especially Nightwish's "Phantom of the Opera" |
