Anime-Source Synopsis & Reviews

you might have seen my post about a manga of the same name on the manga forum, well the anime is out now and i just saw the first ep
finally there is anime about rock music (correct me if i am wrong, becasue if i am i want to see the others too)
its just the begining of the series and its preety much what i have expected, the first ep showed that there is a good reason at least for me to wait to listen to the music they will be playing there, the guitar riffs are really good and the bass line in the middle of the show was great, the script of the anime was really close to the way the manga story line
i really cant wait a week just to see the next ep, even though i posted so many things about bleach i am actually looking forward to seeing the next ep of this show than bleach and as for manga beck and bleach are tied for me
i think this will be the first time ever for me to see the same episode of one anime twice in a row but i am going to watch it again right now

Just like Idjota said... this is truly a unique new show for the world of anime. Regardless of your tastes, you at least should give this show a look just to evaluate as a possible new genre for the art. Whether you like it or not doesn't matter... just taking note of something new is enough.

BECK, finaly something on music, and damn this one looks promising. Starts with some emo kid speaking jap in his english class, finds a weird dog, then some weird foreign guy, and the rest of the weirdness continues. Wth!? And what's more I can't even count the number of time they say f***. Anyway I love the current flow of the show. Like Idjota, I be dying to see the next ep.

Would Kacho Oji (Legend of Black Heaven) qualify as a rcck anime? The main character is a rock guitarist, although the story is perhaps more sci-fi than rock. I also remember an older shoujo anime about a boys band, although I can't recall the title (anyone?). Beck does sound promising though.

looks very faithful to the manga but the character design is too pretty, heh.

this is annoying, does any one know when ep 2 will be out because it seems to me that anime-empire has been draging with the release and ep 3 will be out in couple of days

wtf?>!?! ep 2 came out but there is no BT/torrent link?!?!?! i checked on their site and tracker page and no link either whats goign on ?!?! O.o i wanna see ep 2!

finally saw the second episode
some parts were slow but there finally were some sneak peeks at how the music going to sound, however i would like them to make the music a bit louder and the crowd a bit less noisy so i can enjoy the guitars in it. over all a good episode but it was such a long time since the first ep was released that i was expecting too much from the second ep, how i wish that they would come out quicker Sad

I just saw ep 3 and I'm really getting addicted to this show. It's pretty easy to guess where things are going but it's very entertaining anyway.

Ep 3 was well done, however there is a reason to be a little disappointed if you are also a fan of the manga... possible spoilers below, although it doesn't really spoil anything:

Yeah, so for all of you other Beck manga lovers out there, are you as disappointed as I am about how much they toned down the reaction shot of Koyuki's singing? Also, I'm a little disappointed with the singing itself. I mean, recycled frame after recycled frame in the manga... we always see Koyuki open his mouth and then the whole audience goes GAFAW!... their eyes buldge, their jaws drop and it's one of the most hilarious reactions I've ever seen (short of the Yakitate! Japan reaction gags).

After reading the manga, I've been waiting these first few episodes to hear just how incredible the kid would have to sing to garner such a reaction every time. While the singing itself wasn't too much of a let down... after all, it was pretty damn cool... the reaction from the girl was toned WAY down from what we get in the manga.

Anyway, struck me as funny... that was the moment I'd been looking forward to ever since I heard there was going to be a Beck anime.

I haven't read the manga but judging from what you said I guess that they are trying to make the anime more subtle and realistic without the traditional manga gag faces.

they did tone it down a bit, but i did expect that, there really isnt a voice that would make my jaw drop so i think the way they did it in the anime was good. since Koyuki will only sing ballads and such his voice was fine, but I want to hear chiba sing Smile

still the most annoying parts of this anime is the english, don't know why but it just does
