This thread is for non-anime screenshots/desktops. There already is a thread for Anime/Manga desktops here
I'm starting to think this may get too confusing for some people. _________________

You can't say what this thread is about, that's for the author to decide.

Does that say "non-anime wallpapers/desktops"? I don't think so. _________________ Mankind was blessed with curiosity and cursed with greed.

haha, well though you're right, I suppose, you should prolly look at who you're being short with before you go posting. Try not to agravate the mods, they'll make your life a living hell (been there on other sites... let's just say I gave up on them).
Plus you missed this... (well, we both did actually, but I was following from page 2)

maybe someone should edit the thread subject _________________

moderater or not, one shouldn't go around thinking they know everything, besides the power, they're still users of the forum.
but i do appoligize to the mod if he/her was offended, it's just that i get pissed off when people try to act all high and mighty. i like it better when you act like normal users. _________________ Mankind was blessed with curiosity and cursed with greed.

I chose Xeno's reply to quote because it pretty much says it all about the most recent crisis on this thread (geez, it's becoming a soap opera here). To tell you guys the truth what I really find fasinating about your sceenshots isn't so much the wallpapers (though hey are nice and show an aspect of your personalities) as the stuff you have on your screens like the icons on your desktops which show what programs you seem to find useful and important. The stuff you have on your start bars at the time of the screenshots also say a thing or two about you.
In my screenshot you can barely see any wallpaper. Yeah I'm showing off a theme that isn't all that easy to achieve in the Gnome Desktop Enviroment. Some of you that aren't familiar with Linux don't know this but for eyecandy most people use KDE. Gnome is more known for being rather plain but extremely functional. To get that degree of eyecandy I had to combine Enlightenment E-16 (known for it's extremely advanced eyecandy value but hardly good for anything else) and Gnome. In essence combining Gnome functianality with Enlightenment eyecandy. This is making me sound like a big brainiac Linux nerd but that isn't really the case. I've been playing around with this combo for about 6 months and finally got the controls looking really nice and went looking for wallpapers in complimentary shades (that's why the content of the wallpaper wasn't that important, I just thought the blues, greys and golds of the wallpapers went nicely with the metalic blue and gold of the E-16/Gnome theme). I also have open a lot of the areas and programs that I use everyday, frome the system graphs on the gmone panel, weather applet with doppler radar, my anime folder, gnome bittorrent, XMMS media player (anyone notice anything simular about those?) I also have my applications panel open and have my Xine video player selected. I even have three different areas of A-S on display. In effect I've sort of recreated a sort of still life that shows the typical daily usage of my computer (pathetic isn't it?).
Just maybe if this thread was a little less about wallpaper and more about what you consider important about your computer or things your proud of. I'm all for screenshots of your personal best high score in your favorite game, counter strike compition score screen for your clan, Screenies of you World of Warcraft Characters or anything you want the rest of us to see (within good taste and the forum rules).
This thread isn't really about your wallpaper, it's about you and getting to now more about you and what makes you proud.

Yes, that's clear enough, plus I know a whole lot about your desktop system now.
Well, here's a screen of my cool monk in Ragnarok Online

The windows theme is from Style XP, as are the buttons, and that nifty bar on the right is called Serious Samurize, using the Water Element config with some of my own modifications. Let me know if you're curious/jealous
P.S. My current CPU clock is 2.7ghz, I'm using an AMD64 3000+ Venice core (Thats a default speed of 1.8ghz). Its t3h ph4t Uberclock0r. And yes- as the astute of you may have spotted I play a lot of games, mostly BF2 these days. |

Cool Spite (for XP that is j/k okay). Your Serious Samurizes look a lot like some of the gDesklets that are available for Gnome. I had played around with those for a bit but decided to go with the tool bar graphs. _________________ "Though I am not naturally honest, I am so sometimes by chance."
