I've been following DelRey's releases of Genshiken manga, so I'm looking forward to this OVA. I wanna see that paint brush hair girl cosplay more. and Saki better cosplay more too. Twisted Evil

So far, after 2 episodes, I find Genshiken 2 rather boring.. manga is soooo much better...

ep3, been waiting for that cosplay scene to be animated ever since i read it on the manga..

theres been a slight decline in animation quality/consistency, but its still a pretty good adaptation, noting the changes, its still within permissible bounds... now im lookin forward to Ohno's friends visiting from the US and madarame's predicament

ep5 - bleh.. me thinks they went a little overboard with ogi's shonen ai fantasies... even the manga wasnt that graphic about it. and barely had that much examples.. >_< man.. that was probably the hardest episode to watch for a guy.. even ogi's bathtub scene fanservice wasnt enuff to shed of the cringe.. Confused

Episode 5 was really hillarious.. I think this show is getting better and better.. as a big fan of Genshiken, I especially enjoy things that weren't in manga... looking forward to Ogi-chin doujinshi... ^_^

ep10, i must say im a little disappointed... yes i know its to be expected naturally, i mean cmon how many times has this happened before.. but still..

is it really that hard to get good english seiyuu's? i mean they couldve just grabbed some foreigners/tourist from the street and have em do a quick script or somethin and it woul dmake a big improvement if only a little bit of plus factor.

still.. what has changed, im on a half approval.. nevermind sue, she dont talk much anyway, but angela shld have been on better vocals.

also this second season seems to be a bit more "mature" to some extent graphicwise,contentwise.. the animation quality seems to have dwindled some from the 1st season too..

thankfully all the manga was out and its really one of the best reads ive had in awhile. vol9 had an extended sue / angela chapters which i really enjoyed.

i dont think the concept of using natural born speakers for foreign languages will ever catch on outside of major movie productions.

on the animation front, genshiken as a franchise has switched hands twice now (once after first season, then again after the OVAs). this current studio is actually pretty well know for its hentai productions, so there's little suprise that the fanservice has been dramatically upped. content wise, it's stayed fairly true to the source material with some (radical, in places) embellishments.

meh.. season 2 direction failure...

who the hell wants to see thsi psycho shit stuff in genshiken??? and why was sasahara singled out for the psycho focus? if it was decided to go that direction then it ogiue would be a better focal choice.

and that was supposed to be th elast ep?

i dont normlly mind branhcing off the manga, but this certainly has a "different" view of what the genshiken story was all about. or rtaher they took one angle and went overboard with it. also thats too much fanservice that wasnt necessary... its like again theyre trying to sell this this with the sex sauce.. why was it all about sasahara in the end, the latter part was supposed to be about ogiue.

I don't really mind the way they went with the story and I've read the manga before. So he struggled with finding a job and they dragged it out longer and made some other stuff than in the manga. I didn't find it to be a bad thing since in it's own way it's realistic to see him get frustrated and then running from it. Besides at that point of the manga the focus was more on Sasahara than on Ogiue so obviously it'll be more about him right there. It doesn't shift to Ogiue until after that anyway and personally think they at least kept most of the main events and points from the manga. And the fanservice things already been explained so it's not exactly a surprise. My only grief with the series is that it ended where it did wanted it to cover the last volumes of the manga as well. It's to bad that they didn't but what can you do.

imo its a good thing they ended it there... i dont think any good would come of it if the same studio continued with it.

yes its not surprising, but its still disappointing..

im not going into an explanation/rationalization why it sucked for me. it just does.. simply, some liked it, some dont mind and others are not satisfied.
