Anyone here is playing/has played Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows of Amn?
I've played it for a long time and am still playing it. I would consider this the best game ever.
Have bested the game several times with parties and once with a solo T/M/F and am so close to beating it with a solo sorcerer, but the sorcerer is just too strong, making the game way too easy. Now, I'm in the process of beating the game with a solo assassin - now that's cool.
Anyone has anything to say about this game? _________________ "It is also paradox that the earth moves round the sun, and that water consists of two highly inflammable gases. One of my favourite games of all time. Interesting powergaming going on especially with ToB. Too bad there's no true evil ending even if you try (like getting Bodhi over to your side and sacrificing Imoen, that would be so cool).
But I never even tried beating this game solo, I guess I'm too much into high damage output
I'm currently replaying the original Baldurs Gate + TotSC, but after i'm finished my character is being imported straight into SoA.
Not a powergamer though. Soloing the whole game would mean missing out on all the party politics and that's the best part. I love to listen to Jaheira and Arie fight or even better Sarevok and Keldorn in ToB.
My favourite builds are melee butchers (two weapon fighting: longsword [Equalizer] & warhammer [Crom Faeyr]).
In conclusion, one of the best games ever, right up there with Fallout & PS Torment.
I love the party interactions too. But I've already been through the game using parties 3 times.. Now I wanted a challenge, so I thought who could be a rather difficult but cool solo - and I instantly thought assassin. Mainly because assassin is the coolest class in the whole game hands down.
I'm writing a quick description of his way through the game as it progresses. Thinking of posting the finished work on http://www.ironworksforum.com/ when that time comes.
I dislike playing tank classes, I like the 'more strategic' classes better; thief, sorcerer, bard, druid and so on.
I usually roleplay the game, as I dislike powergaming too (have already powergamed it once). My assassin roleplays the whole game and has only been forced to be cheesy once (the cowled one in the thief stronghold quest, 'cause I wasn't high enough level to fight him one on one). He is quite funny with his remarks to people; so many people hate him ^^
I've also created a 'do good party' as I like to call it. It consists of me (cavalier), Minsc, Mazzy, Keldorn, Arie and Anomen. A paladin kind of party.
Anyone has some interesting screenshots they want to show off?? _________________ "It is also paradox that the earth moves round the sun, and that water consists of two highly inflammable gases. I like BG2 more than Icewind Dale. BG2 has better graphics (I think). The party politics are also very interesting. I never played a solo. I'll miss out some of the character quests. If I would play solo, I'd use a thief of one of its kits (assasin, swashbukler). Really need those disarm trap skills. Traps are everywhere. Some even can kill with one shot. Multi class is also a choice when soloing.
The last character I played was a barbarian. Dual wield.
My favourite character was the Undead Hunter.

I like drows (especially Drizzt Do Urden) so Viconia is my favorite character. having her in your party is reaaaaally awesome. Make her cast Turn Undead to vampires (or other undead) and viola! They become your slave! Wahahahaha. And I like when she talk to Ariel. ^_^ _________________ Dhuran ! Load Silver Cartridges ! ... Fire !
