- Sony is working on a new emulation software which allows PSP to play original PSone games, PSone games will be digitally distributed to PSP online.
- Ken Kutaragi announced that PSP will have an upgrade to allow the system to run games written in Macromedia Flash. Future firmware upgrade would also support RSS feeds and GPS locator functionality.

Oh the possibilities...
Imagine playing all those PSone RPGs on the handheld...
This was what I was originally hoping for when they first announced about PSP many years ago. Now the dream is finally coming true. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

I've been playing Tales of Phantasia for GBA, and it's great game.
It will be awsome to play some of PSone games on a handheld, or maybe even replay some of them. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

Hrm... I originally thought the PSP was the most amazing thing in the world. I bought mine for a reduced price (it was brand new, don't ask how I got it though), but even with it's reduced price, I'm not sure the handheld was really worth it. Granted I don't utilize it's multimedia functions like being able to watch movies or listening to music (partly because i'm too lazy to buy a bigger memory card and because I have an ipod, not to mention the new video ipod).
The handheld seems to be getting more games, but the original thing that hooked me into getting one was the ability to play roms on it. Too bad new games require you to update your firmware. I still have my original firmware (1.5 was it?), so I can still crack the firmware, but I'm too lazy to do it.
I guess if more games came out, then my investment last summer would actually pay off, but until then, my psp will just sit there like it has been for the past few months. The only game I bought was Lumines, which I must say was a pretty awesome game. It isn't as addictive as Tetris was, but it's a damn fine game. I'm thinking about getting the new Megaman, but that's about the only other game I'd currently buy for the PSP. |

seefutbow > Yeah I understand, that's exactly why I didn't buy a PSP yet and bought a DS first. I wanted to wait for better games to come out for PSP and for the price to drop before I bought it. Right now, PSP doesn't seem worth the current price tag.
I also have a video iPod with 60GB memory
To use a PSP for watching movies on memory stick seems way too much of nuisance. Using iPod is just so much easier and simpler.
BTW, I think the sales of PSP in Japan just jumped up this month due to the release of Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. Though DS lite and DS is still the top 2 best sellers despite their chronic shortages in Japan. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

Are you kidding me? The reason you probably think that is because the PS1 has so many titles. There are so many RPG franchises that produced wonderful games for the PS1. Squaresoft produced a handful of RPG's including two of probably the best games on the system, FF7 and FFT. Breath of Fire 3 was an awesome game produced by Capcom. Who can forget Bust A Groove (the dancing game where you put in dance combinations to watch your character dance not the bubble game). Metal Gear Solid was also a great game, which spawned some followup games. Lunar: Silver Star Story, which had a wonderful story, and very fun gameplay was also on the PS1. I seem to be naming mainly RPG's, but that's due to the fact that I mainly buy RPG's. |

But then, you can make the same argument for any other systems ever released. There are no system that only has good games.
You say "MOST" of the titles on PS1 are crappy. There are also MANY great games on PS1. That just goes to show that PS1 has LOTS of different titles under its belt. BTW, when you say there aren't many great games on PS1, are you actually satisfied with the current line up of PSP titles? You either have a very bad taste in games or just haven't played enough PS1 games.
PS1 probably has more games than Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox360 all combined.
Think about this, if about 10% of all PS1 games are good and 90% are crappy... What if PS1 had 1000 titles total? That makes 10% into 100 good games.
Let's say if Xbox had 20% good games and has total of 100 titles... That's 20 good games.
So which one is better now? 100 good games? or 20 good games? Nobody forces you to play the rest of crappy 900 titles. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

in my PS1 games collection it didn't even reached 100 but still, I consider those 50 games to be the best among the rest. It's true that PS1 has the most games of ALL!
You just have to spend carefully on games that you'll buy. the PSP for me, 90% of the games are crap...but I on;y picked up the games that I consider the best, even if it means importing them. _________________

You ordered a DS lite? If you did, chances are, they didn't have any in stock. It would be more of a pre-order for the next shipment of DS lite. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |
