Really surprised. I liked it a lot. I was expecting a mid-average action movie like the Matrix. But the trailers was pleasantly deceiving. I was faced with an interresting movie. Kodus to Hugo W. acting a very good "V". Don't go into the theater expecting an action movie, you're most likely to be disapointed.

Little problem with the pacing sometimes. The universe in witch the story was told is really well made. So well made the movie felt packed with a little too much storytelling. They could have removed 1 or 2 parts without affecting the fun of watching it.

Warmly recommanded!

I to found it very intresting. I like the action.

Especially when V killt one of the main officers and all of his subordinets. It was really cool when he threw all of those knives.

The movie had a very good story line. I like the line that "People should not be afraid of their goverments. Goverments should be afraid of their people."
The setting was very good. I found it very intresting and I woud watch it again and again. The movie isn't really an action moie it is more of a mytery about the letter V. I would recommend it to any one.

I thought the pacing was wonky at times. I liked all the cuts they made, even if they had to "power up" V.

This wouldn't have been made if it took place in America, so that was nice to see.

And I loved how they completely failed to mention Alan Moore, who wan't a perfect adaptation, which would've had less action and been 5 hours.

I found the movie surprisingly funny. The reason they posted this up in England is because the Wachowski bros. (spelling?) didn't want to blatantly call out the Bush administration. The government run in futuristic England and its dictator is a nice exaggeration of the US president and his staff. I found myself to be the only one laughing in the theatre when they described Sutler's views on the world as a mirror image of Bush's ideals. I guess nobody else in the theatre caught on.

Also, Natalie Portman and that dress that looks like it came out of Wizard of Oz... *drool* Boy, did Natalie resemble a boy when she got her head shaved off.

Pretty much, almost everything about this movie was great. Totalitarianistic governments provide for some good entertainment.

I along with most of my friends lughed durin different parts of th movie. I really like the way the government was set up.
I'm amazed that that one guy on the board of the directors took so much before he killed the chancellor. I would have thought he would want all the power, but I guess he likes the room of the back set, while the driver yelled at him.I found it very interesting how they had a lot of different things for V and how it showed a symbol of his cell room. All the word he used for V was really cool in the beginning.

I thought the movie was very well made.

Also the book and comic take place in Britain, not because they wanted to make it take place in America. I was saying it would've been impossible to do if it took place in America, kind of like how Fight Club would never have had a chance if it were being made today.

I loved the alliteration part. Who knew you can use so man V - words in one sentence? ... or a paragraph... (it did kind of stretch near the end, but it must have taken a while to memorize that). Then again, you can just stand there and have a tape recording of yourself, since you're wearing a mask.

It was cool, I loved the music, but I'm still trying to connect some things together. I didn't have a problem with the pacing, although when it was the day before November 5th, it was sorta abrupt.

I agree, I noted that quote when it was said. It was one of those "ahhh~" moments.

Shucks, they gave the end of Gankutsuou, with that little reference of theirs. Oh well, not like I was interested in Gankutsuou anyway...

I believe Gankutsuou's story is heavily based on the story, "The Count of Monte Cristo". Since V seemed to really enjoy watching the movie, there are bound to be similarities between the two.

For you, Himitsu. =)

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate...

...This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

I haven't seen it, though given alot of the negative criticism I've seen on these and other forums, it might be best that I stay away from it

Maybe not this forum because the majority of people here like it. Also, it might be best that you go try it out. If you have any interest in the current US political situation, you'll find of lot of interesting and funny parallels in the movie. Not to mention that V is a pretty interesting and dynamic character himself. I'm wondering about the forums you've been to since all the forums I frequent have raved and raved about V for Vendetta (then again, there are countless forums on the net).

Says the user that UltraViolet was supposed to be what's her face's best movie.....

Stop losing, go watch a good movie.

I won't lie to you, I think there are better films out there. V for Vendetta was a 7.8/10 for me. UltraViolet was 2.6/10, for comparison.

I didn't say Ultraviolet was Milla's best movie, I said that's what the commercials were touting it as... just like they do anytime any star comes out with a new movie. Doesn't anyone see the irony in that? Well, not so much irony, but you know what I mean.

I thought the thread about how awful V is was on this site, but it's the other site that I subscribe to that does. Maybe I'll take a closer look into what this one is about if all of you are so adament about changing my opinion.

I don't care about you changing your opinion, as long as you have the ability to distinguish fact from opinion. I say XYZ and you believe me, and then Billy Bob over there sez OMG and you believe that. How about you become critical and deciminate the information for yourself.

I just realized that this is in Entertainment, and not in A-S Club, but I'm too lazy to delete all that.

So, watch the movie yourself to say whether you would've enjoyed it or not. Smile
