Check out my build... ...please.

As soon as this months paycheck arrives i will have enough money to build a new computer system and after some research i've come up with this:

processor - AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Not the best out there but solid and better than what i have now (also cheap).

graphics card - HIS Radeon X1600Pro Ice-q
This is the best graphics card i can afford right now, just can't spend 300+ euros on GeForce 7800 GT or Radeon X1900XT.

motherboard - MSI K8N Neo4 SLI
This motherboard has many advantages like SLI (so i can put in another graphics card in later), intergated Sound Blaster Live! 7.1 and it supports my new processor (the one i have now doesn't).

memory - 512MB DDR400 (Kingston or Corsair)
I already have 512MB of memory on my current system so with this one the total will be 1GB.

Other stuff i'm keeping from my old system, Maxtor 6Y120L0 (HD), the case, mouse, keyboard and monitor. My system is connected to my beloved soundsystem (NAD C320BE amp + Monitor Audio Bronze 2 speakers) so i have no need for computer speakers.

This is the first rig i'm building myself and i would really like to hear your comments on the stuff i have chosen. Just keep in mind i'm on a budget.

What the?? You bought SLI mobo, but used a Radeon Graphics card?!! SLI is only compatible for nVidia cards only. If you want to add Radeon Graphics Card, then you have to buy a mobo with Crossfire capability.

I think that is a bad choice of graphics card there, IMHO Sad

I didn't buy anything yet. Thanks for the warning, the purpose of this topic is to get advice, and it turns out this isn't a good combination. Any idea which graphics card(s) to use on this motherboard?

p.s. GeForce 7800 GT would be ideal, but it's out of my price range.

Here's the new setup, cut some corners here and there and came up with this combination for almost the same price:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+, (2,0GHz), 512K, BOX (Socket 939)
MSI NX6800XT-TD256 LITE, GeForce 6800XT, 256MB, DVI, PCI-Express
MSI K8N SLI Platinum, nForce 4 Ultra SLI, (socket 939), 7,1, GLAN, 1394
DDR 512MB Kingston PC400

Not sure if you will be into overclocking, but on the AMD make sure you get the "venice" core. Also if you can, getting a 6800GS would be better. If you haven't already, I suggest looking at Newegg or ZipZoomFly for the best prices, shipping, and service.

I have no intention of overclocking anything yet (as i don't have enough money for extra cooling systems and power sources). 6800XT is the only GeForce 6 card i can afford right now, how better is the 6800GS please tell me the advantages over the XT.
