Ippo has a goal much bigger then Miyata. It's the goal of wanting to be strong. And with his complete lack of confidence, that in itself would be an adventure. _________________ Running from your problems only wastes time... They always catch up either way. |

ippo is trying finish up some old business with Miyata, after not being able to in the rookie kings
right before Date's last World Title Match, Ippo sparred with the Mexican World Champ... Martinez i think his name was...
anyway, ever since then, he's not only had the goal to learn what it means to be strong, but also "bring da pain" to the World level. (Date passed the baton. remember?) _________________ [img:500:184:c0d8dc4eaa]http://kontek.net/LizardDude/ManagerSig20bacon.jpg[/img:c0d8dc4eaa] |

miyata for the most part WAS his goal... now he is just ONE of his many goals... Miyata has become a sort of obstacle that must be settled for him to progress even further... with the baton pass from Date it is evident he ain't eyeing Miyata exclusively... he has his eye on the world... and maybe something even bigger like that meaning of becoming strong... _________________

the fight with take is pretty stupid... it is obvious take is the weaker opponent.. ippo is just soooo naive to be taken in by take's tactics... but that is what ippo is so known for.. his fights.. the kind that always makes you think he might actually lose.. _________________

That's really what they're getting at. On a level field, Ippo would crush Take. That's why Take has to analyze Ippo's flaws and take advantage of them. Take is going to adopt a strategy that somehow restricts the movement of Ippo's shoulder. Remember, Take was the one opponent that Eiji didn't want to face. The reason wasn't because of strength, speed, or endurence (even though Take's proven he has a crapload of the last one). It's because Take can pick an opponent apart and destroy them. How else can a 30-something year-old man become the number one seed in such a flash? He serves as a physical demonstration that Ippo has a lot to learn. _________________ Sweep the leg, Johnny! |

That little thing that Take was doing though. That's pretty vicious. If he had more power I can't imagine how mnay people would be victimized by that. Talk about a smart play.
Still though... I would have to say being that low is just too risky. Ippo is definitely going to be Take's last fight.
Hope he gets out alive. _________________ Running from your problems only wastes time... They always catch up either way. |

Do you remember how many chapters Hajime no ippo had? It would take at least several months for the staff to upload all those images and setup the entire page codings.
Good luck and godspeed to the A-S staff for their effort of putting the manga back up. I'll be waiting patiently until its out to start reading it again |
