"your current security settings prohibit running activex control on this page. As a result the page may not display correctly"
Thats the the error that i randomly get. i tried googling this message and found some solutions but they dint work.
1. First thing i did was Internet Option>Security Tab,Trusted Sites, Then i added 3 sites. http://www.macromedia.com, http://fpdownload.macromedia.com, http://sdc.shockwave.com.
2. Second thing i did was run Regedit, then going to this path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Internet Settings \ Zones \ 0. Then Set the 1200 item to value of zero.
Im running Windows Xp SP2. This error seem to occur when i leave mozilla open and it doesnt matter what website im viewing the message will always come up. |

Mozilla or Firefox does not have activex support.
You will have to install a plugin to enable activex - http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |

If you are using Internet Explorer, open it and go to Tools\Internet Options\Security\ and select Default Level. It should enable activex support.
Adding the 3 sites to your trusted list are just examples provided by Microsoft support . You have to add the site that needs activex to the list, not just Macromedia sites. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |

| I never use IE, but i dunno why a IE error comes up when i dont even use it. I tried going to the security settings and settin it to default, no change, if anything i think the error is occuring even more frequently now. |

I'm a little confused here, what browser are you using?
How come you can get an error message when you are running neither Mozilla or IE? Capture a screenshot would be better if you don't know how to explain. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |

| Looks like you have some spyware on your system. You may want to do some scans with your preferred Spyware program, or use Ad-aware if you don't have any. |

My guess is you have some faulty scripts installed.
1. Plugins that fakes the browser identification like identify Firefox as IE
2. View IE only pages in Firefox like the IETab plugin
Try uninstall any Firefox plugin, extension or theme that may relate to IE since it could be a bad installation or poorly written codes. Do a clean installation if possible, meaning uninstall Firefox completely and reinstall.
Besides that, scan your pc for spyware/adware and virus to make sure no malicious scripts are running. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |
