Anime based off of Games, and vice versa! Good or Bad?

v-boi>> if you really think about it, every anime has a game on it.....i do belive that inuyasha has 5-6 games allready. ive only played the "combat".......it stunk......really really badly.

List of anime that have a "Combat Game"

Inuyasha
One-Piece ( im not so sure its considered anime)
Samurai Camploo (Oops Sorry)
Naruto
All Gundum series
DBZ & DBGT

thouse are just the ones off the top of my head...im sure theres way more....

Yeesh, the videogames i played that were based off of anime was okay, not great but okay.

I don't play as many video games as I would like, but I can offer my thoughts on XenoSaga (as can be expected from someone with the word "xeno" in his screenname). As others have said about the game itself, it was really fun and beautifully drawn, but it was more like a movie than a game. I didn't mind it so much, except I could only play if I had three straight hours of free time to devote to it. And the story was very complicated, though it did have an "encyclopedia" to use as a reference. I would have preferred an option to replay past scenes, but oh well.

Being a PS2 XenoSaga fan, I was jumping for joy when the anime came out, but I could only make it through three episodes before I abandoned it. They left out too many of the awesome scenes from the game. I guess it was designed more for the people who didn't have the time to play through the full PlayStation version. Not really much for the game fans.

Onto other video game/anime discussion... I was super excited to get my hands on the Cowboy Bebop PS2 game, but the designers kept pushing the release back and back. I think the whole project has been scrubbed. Boooooooooooooooo!!

And I know no one asked, but some video games that I would like to see turned into animes (or feature-length movies, either animated or live) include:

- the legend of zelda
- Grand Theft Auto
- Star Fox
.... and turn the anime, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 into a VG!!!

I can only imagine GTA being a full-length movie (Anime GTA? WTF!?). That wouldn't be so bad, just focus more on the story and limit the recklessness.

As for Legend of Zelda, although it's really old, there's already an animated series for it. Damned Ancient.

that's one of the worst sins ever committed...... never EVER bring up those old Zelda episodes lol

what i'd like to see is a Chrno Crusade game, or a Ikaruga anime.....

it would also be totally awesome to have a shakugan no shana game...*droooool*

I have never seen a bad anime based off a game.
But when its the other way around all the efforts into the game
would be USELESS!! Mad

There was never a good anime that was turned into a good game
Thats wat I think anyway.

HAH! i disprove your theory with an example! Naruto games are pretty good, even if the show is getting a lot of crap about fillers.

another good anime -> games = SNES Gundam Wing: Endless Duel

and btw, yes those old zelda episodes were terrible. "whatever, princess".....but the old mario cartoons were great, imo. classics FTW

Im wondering if tekken is consider a anime game because i saw one saying tekken motion picture.....something like that i dont quite remember the title.
