Just finished watchin ep 1 as well .. and its looking pretty interesting. Again, hopefully it does not become mindless like another certain anime *cough*Ikki*cough*
Anyway .. I was just wondering .. who is the lead male? .. is it takayanagi? or nagi? because takayanagi is the one who was narrating the first ep .. yet .. the biggest focus seem to be around nagi? .. some how I get the feeling that nagi is going to become all powerful later on and takayanagi is some side character who is goin to get his butt kicked .. just like that dork from Ikki. (he can beat regular people .. but he was totally weak to the bosses)
Oh well .. lets see how this plays out .. and how many eps is this series goin to have? |

| The number of episodes is unknown because they are still continuing the manga of tenjou tenge and if you read the manga you will know who the main characters are. |

in the manga its mainly focus on nagi and natsume
but then it kinda jumps with the flashback arc...
the flashback arc was kool...i hope they wont take it out...if they do...then this series will totally become ikki 2 _________________

I'm not too hopeful for this one... my guess is that it'll be adequate for the first 5 episodes and then it'll just be a total letdown...
But lets hope that I'm wrong... _________________ You can't hold no groove if you ain't got no pocket. |

Wow .. I am suprised noone has posted anything since ep 2 has been out for a while. Just finished watching it and it was pretty good .. at least takayanagi looked like a real devil when he got mad
I don't know why .. but I am routing for takayanagi to really develop into a bad ass kicking machine .. instead of the story revolving of nagi's quest to become stronger. oh well.
Hopefully this series does not become "one person from the enforement team comes in and tries to beat up nagi and bob ... fails .. and a stronger one comes in and fails ... then somehow bob and nagi become invincibly strong near the end and take out the entire enforcement team"
Hmm .. it looks like it might be heading that direction .. oh well .. I'll keep watching and see. |

Well, you don't have to worry because that's definitely not how it'll proceed...
Takayanagi is already a ass-kicking machine... Too bad Nagi will most certainly surpass him. |

Too bad... Im all for Takayanagi but he's not special like soujiro.
Ep 2 was coo, the fight was brutal as hell. Knocked em so hard he barfed... goodness. But anyway, they are cutting little bits and pieces out from manga (like some of the sex) but overall it's staying pretty close to it. I just hope they don't change to much in order to make the show more marketable because that would suck. _________________ [IMG:508:164:6c8e3c695e]http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p252/inqArk/Original_sig.jpg[/img:6c8e3c695e] |

from wat i hear, and the speed that the anime is going, its never gonna make it to the flashback arc (one of the better parts of the manga imo); which would render this into the pointless ikki fighting anime. hopefully they'll come out with a season 2 for the later arcs, or their gonna hafta do some major editing to the story. _________________

What? Where did you get that impression from? The flashback arc starts at Chapter 25, and the anime is going at a rate of 2 chapters per chapter and possibly faster in the future (since the size of each chapter varies). So it'll get there probably by Ep 10 or 11. I have no idea how long the series is though (right now it appears to be a 26 episode series), but even if this is a 13 ep series then there most definitely would be a season 2 since it will barely even touch the story. |

haroT3k might have a point there darkhunger. There are usually some issues adapting ongoing manga to animes, e.g. Flame of Recca (sudden ending), Hellsing (wtf second half), Soul Hunter (bastardization of story & characters!) & Chrno Crusade (wtf bastardization). There is this possibility with Tenjou Tenge as well. As much as I hope they adapt the manga to anime well, I have my fingers crossed that they will not repeat the mistakes of the examples above. |

Well Haro was talking about the fact that they won't have enough time to even make it to the flashback scene, not about how they are planning to change the anime into crap (in fact Haro was actually advocating the, in your own words, "bastardization" of the story so they can fit this all in). But of course, there are tons of bad manga-anime adaptations and quite a few good ones. And a lot of anime where everything's completely changed. But judging from interviews of the staff of this anime, they did say that they are trying to "capture the feel of the manga" as well as possible, so hopefully that's enough of a reassurance for you. |

Hopefully they don't mess this anime up .. it got promise. Anyway .. changing the story away from the manga might not be that bad... I know that most animes were completely messed up because they did not follow the manga .. but I believe I read that Full metal Alchemist has diverged from the manga .. and to me .. it is on of the best anime showing right now .. I am more anxious to see what happens in FMA than naruto.
Just hope that this anime remains good. |

Well... they were on holiday, playing hokey, off in the dark staircases making out, plotting to overthrow their fathers, etc... |

I'd prefer it if they look like the characters in the later chapters of the manga... Right now it's like a crappy mix between how they look early on in the manga and how they look currently.
Besides, we already have "Sonsaku Hakufu" appearing in the Melody of Oblivion so we don't really need her here too... |
