Actually the whole bunnies thing is too important and visible to dispose of. He costumes are featured VERY prominently. I'd sure like to know HOW you edit that out. I bet that MOHS would sell quite well and I agree with fresh. Maybe paying a royalty would, in the end, not be too big of a profit cut for whoever licenses it.

Alright people. Your second coming is in the fall of 2007:

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

That's just one of the many sources I've found. Be sure to come and worship some more! =P

Yep, indeed 'tis a great news. Also, if you want more Aya Hirano's voice, new Kiddy Grade anime is coming out sometimes in 2007 or 2008. I have no idea if it is some kind of prequel/sequel. But considering the nature of those characters in Kiddy Grade, the series could work which ever way it went, either prequel or sequel. Eclair and Lumiere would still be there anyway.

Now that I think about it, The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina was pretty short, the SOS brigade only made the movie to about half an hour.

And man, you guys are paranoid about getting 125% details about "what-happened-here-and-there" about that movie, huh?

Freaking Harutards.

Looks like this series might just be licensed...

www.asosbrigade.com

This site is being heavily advertised on the Anime on DVD website (the letters "S" and "O" are all highlighted in red). Now it's not a question of "If", but now a question of "who" and "when". Looks like we'll find out on Friday.

Hint: The two front runners are ADV and Funimation. However, I'm thinking ADV because Funimation has never pulled off advertising like this...

I think you guys kinda missed this thread.
Suzumiya Haruhi Finally coming to North America? thread
I dunno why, but everytime I make a thread, it goes unnoticed by most people... I almost miss those forum spammers looking for points.

I watched The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya today. I expected quite a lot of this anime tbh.

After watching i was a bit disappointed tho. Maybe i expected to much seeing all the great reviews. But the anime didn't seem to special to me.

Looking around I'm probably one of the few who didn't like the fact that the anime wasn't in chronological order. It's just to confusing and suddenly there was a guy at club sitting there that you have never saw before. I personly dont like that imo. And that was also the reason when i decided to watch it in chronological order.

As someone mentioned earlier in this topic its originally only 6 episodes

2-3-5-10-13 and 14 as final one.

Personly i think it should of just been a movie, 6 episodes are around 2 hour + so it could easily be made in to a 2 hour movie.

I watched it on chronological order. I tried the release order but it just didn't made sense to me to watch it in that order so i sorted the numbers out and watched it chronological order.

Things i was a bit disappointed about was mainly the comedy part. I didn't find things to funny in this anime. Perhaps my sense for humor isnt so great. Tho i expected this to be at least as funny as FMP.

Perhaps the reason for it was the Fansub service not being to great, tho i appreciate every fansub service doing it all for free. But either way, i didn't find the anime very funny.

To sum things up. I'm mainly disappointed that it wasn't nearly as funny as i expected of it. Also that the story is originly only 6 episodes. And the other 8 didn't add much to it imo.

@Renzoken
Actually TBH, I didn't think the series was greatest. It was an ok series, but it was just very enjoyable to watch, and it left lot of things to be talked about.

Often, a popularity of the show isn't just based on how well the story is written. Lot people often watch a show purely because of certain character. Characters drive the show, if you have a great cast of characters, the show probably will succeed even with mediocre plot. Because, plot in an anime is more often than not, cliched and overused.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu did just that, it had great cast of characters, and that directly translated into becoming the Japan's best TV anime of 2006.

tha'ts part of the problem of hype... it gets your expectations up a little too high and when it doesn't seem to live up, you're left feeling unsatiated.

well, I won't sit here and tell you that your opinion is wrong, but I think the appreciation from most of the fans was that it heightened the mystery of what was happening. The real last episode was kinda weak and wouldn't serve as a good final "battle" so they moved the real climax from where it fell in the middle to the actual end.

I don't remember that coming up, as far I've known, it's always been meant to be 14 episodes. I don't see how any of them could have been removed since they all have their importance.

I didn't see it as downright hilarious... not in a crazy slapstick, straight-out kinda way. Yeah, I can recommend a dozen other series that are funnier than this, but I think people enjoyed it's comedic elements because the main character, Kyon, speaks as though he were a regular guy stuck in an anime. His straight-faced nonchalant "comments" are what kinda personalize this series for a lot of us.

Last post on this page also says the original story is only 6 episodes.

The last 8 could basically be considered..... (oooh i can feel the punishment already)... they could be considered fillers.... That's why i would of appreciate it more if it was a 2 hour lasting movie. Since the last 8 episodes really doesn't add much to the story or not even anything at all.

I'm still wondering were the frog costume came form tho...

I'm not saying its a bad anime, but i would give it around a 7 out of 10.
And yea i have to admit, i love the dance at end Very Happy

Tho as sikverkitsune said. The cast is really great and i really like every character of the anime serie. And its really well drawn.
