fresh_no_concept: We'll prob find out later in the series. Most likely that day of shooting they were arguing about something. I think the series is about how they came together and started filming for the festival. You just got to see the film first.
Crazy Haruhi getting a loli looking girl with big breasts as their mascot.

|
|
After seeing two episodes and reading text from various other sources, I have put together a synopsis for this series. It is currently waiting in the queue to be posted. For anyone adamently curious as to what this show is about, here's a copy of my submission:
Haruhi Suzamiya is the perfect high school student. She's smart, athletic, and attractive. However, she's very bored with reality. She has tried all of the clubs and dated all of the boys in school, but nothing interests her. The only reason she gets out of bed in the morning is to continue on with her goal of meeting a real-live alien, time travler, ghostly spirit, or esper. Though her new high school has both a Mystery Research Society and a Supernatural Phenomena Research Society, she finds neither of them to be suitable, so she starts her own club. Working with the reluctant Kyon, the SOS Brigade is born!! Other members are quickly added to the club which uses featured poor-quality student films as its vehicle for research into events that are out of the ordinary. _________________

| I actually found episode 2 to be a little boring. Too much talking by kyon, and not enough cute girls (sad to say, bc I'm a girl myself). |

That's what I was hoping for too, but it turns out that episode 1 is just a club project video. The rest of the series is about the club that put it together... though I do hope for more horribly-made student films... and more of the episode 1 opening theme song... so kawaii, LOL

Wow, a lot of signatures + avatars are coming out now. Might as well make a banner for the website!
I watched the 2nd episode and it wasn't too, too bad. Not as hilarious as the first one, as expected. About the direction: I'm not even sure if they're going to go anything beyond the first episode. It seems that they're just going to develop the story around the production of the the 'movie' they made. Still interesting, and we'll get to know the characters behind the scenes et cetera. But I think it'll be missing something. And I hope my prediction turns out horrible wrong~ lol.
Nice OP lol, bouncing boobs - great...
I love the dancing for the end though. Haruhi probably has the best animated dancing I've seen. Most anime dancing is... not too modern and choppy. |

I'll go out on a limb and say that anime dancing usually sucks. They shake the hips and snap the fingers and that's supposed to count as actual dancing. I guess I'm one of the few that actually find the poorly choreographed anime dancers annoying. The only animes with interesting dance sequences are Perfect Blue and this anime right here!
But Haruhi-ism isn't all about the dance routine. It's also about Mikuru being used for her "assets". It's about forcing Kyon with all the menial tasks although he never really agreed to anything. It's about Yuki being nonchalant about her surroundings. It's about letting Haruhi do whatever she damn well pleases because you'll be hard pressed to be argue otherwise. Let the Haruhi-ism run rampant amongst the hapless denizens of Anime-Source!
If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm excited about this anime! =D

well the end dance sequence was one of the best I ever saw, the same goes for the end of OP scene, where shots of Haruhi was there...
It was truly nicely done.
Also, I heard that this will be a 14 episode series. I hope the art will stay as maginificent until then _________________ ... |

Actually, that synopsis is wrong. You can read the real one at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzumiya_Haruhi_no_Yuuutsu
But I warn you, it does spoil a lot of the fun so I don't recommend it unless you want to spoil the wild ride that's ahead of us.
I found the 1st episode to be amusing, while I really enjoyed the second episode a lot more. Mostly for Haruhi's random actions, versus her random directorness. Especially her admittance to being bisexual, which raises the number of anime women who are bisexual to 3. Like this matters at all....
Just a random thing I notice.
Edit-
Oh yeah, Kyon makes this series. If it wasn't for his sarcastic remarks during the first two episodes, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. Because what he thought was exactly what I thought. |

I just went by basically what the Newtype-USA preview said, what I saw in episodes 1 and 2, and a little bit of what I saw on other anime-information websites.
I take what I see on wikipedia with a grain of salt anyway since it's compsed primarily of independantly-submitted tidbits. _________________

Well... Haruhi isn't bad... but what actually attracted me the most in this anime is actually... well... is ambarass for me to say but I kinda like Kyon (Where is the fun without him?) and most of all Mikuru Asahina... I'm looking forward to see her more.
About the ending... though I think Haruhi really dance very well for the anime version but the best Dancing MTV I've ever seen is still the Trailer for Yogurting (MMORPG). Check it out!!
Of course this is a game and not an anime... so Anime wise... Haruhi did a really good dancing job... ^^ Kinda thinking of creating a sig out of it as well... _________________ [img:800:198:5c85a10b1b]http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1347/feenasighk3.jpg[/img:5c85a10b1b] |
