.hack//Roots

hack//sign put forth an interesting first episode, and looks like Root is no exception. Nice music (Kajiura Yuki, maybe) and "gaming" atmosphere is what this anime all about.

And looks like the pace from sign is still there too... Rolling Eyes

Ive never watched another .hack// but this confused me, but in a good way. Coming from playing many MMORPGs over the past 5 years you can see why an anime like this has been created.

Looking forward to the rest of the show.

Just so you know most everything that confused will be answered. And the only thing that the other .Hack series teach you is that your always confused on the first episode.

I wonder if I should pick up this series??
.hack/sign kinda turn me down terribly... though .hack/liminity is quite good but I never really finish it. Even .hack/dusk was neglected... I suppose .hack/root stands alone?? Wonder if this title is a worth watch and if it is something like .hack/sign then I would definitely burn this title as charcoal for my BBQ for dinner...

Umm, I don't think this anime is for you then. Roots, so far has a tendancy to follow the path of Sign, in turns of how the story line is presented.

seems to be like a 'history repeats itself' story for roots..

yeh, unless you play online mmorpgs urself, ud have a hard time identifying with the .hack series..

now if only theyd make an actuall online MMORPG of 'the world'

ok just one ?, is there any action in it at all and if there is, is it any good? i doubt that there's any good action in the .hack series's the one that i kinda saw sucked ass imo.

i lover all the dot hack stuff all the way to the book, the card game, the video game and the tv and this did not disappoint

Looks like this anime is really taking it's time with stuffs... ep 4 was the slowest episode so far, with nothing much going on except for something in the background. Sakisaka and Tabby go level up, and Haseo go level up with Shino and Ovan.

Well, Tabby got PK'ed by the end of it. Maybe next episode things will lighten up (and knowing the hack series, i can give up hope on it speeding up Laughing

)

i think im beggining to see the direction roots is taking..

as the other .hack series focus were just a 'party of players', this time the focus seems to be in the 'guild system' the guild rivalry, politics, distrust among the guild members, inner conflics etc, self interest.... basically most of what players experience inside a guild of an mmorpg game.

have to say being a guild master is much work and so i always prefer being a regular member. however having a higher lvl than everyone else in the guild does have annoying irks.. so in someways i could identify with each of the characters and their positions as i can imagine what each's agenda is from the scheming, motivations, mind games etc..

i can see that this anime wont be centered on action, just like the other ,hack series.. notice that theres really little to no action scenes on the eps? even on //sign or//twilight the action didnt really get going till the end.. and its not really that great for a 'final battle' as well..

more focus in character 'interactions with each other' is what id like to think the .hack series is mostly all about.

those looking for something with more action driven plots are better of with 'ragnarok the animation' types of game anime. or a typically any .hacken' slashem' show. Wink
