Evangelion: Girl Friend of Steel 2

I was looking around Studio ADTRW's website because I was interested in their Moon Phase project and found that they also translated this Evangelion: Girl Friend of Steel 2 manga.

Being a big Evangelion fan I took a look at it. Its based on episode 26, with the alternate universe where Shinji and Asuka are childhood friends. His father and mother both work for NERV and Rei is the new transfer student.

It seems quite interesting especially if you ever wanted to see more of that alternate universe in episode 26. The art is a bit different but still good.

I also found out about it....i can't remember how i ended up on that webpage though.....long time ago......
It's nothing close to real EVA....but still it's quite nice to see the love triangle between asuka, rei and shinji a bit more like that, a manga love triangle....
Still Hideaki Anno's EVA is the greatest....sooooooooooooooooo good....I never get tired of watching it...again and again and again....haha

The game cd is actually just click to select decision/answer. Nothing ecchi inside, so don't think there's special edition if you buy it. Twisted Evil

So is the stoyline the same or different from the original Eva series? And wasn't the Eva series based off Manga? Is there any news on that one?

This manga is different, as people have already said, it is set in the alternate universe from episode 26. There is another manga based off of the TV series (not the other way around), which is Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's interpretation of the story. If I remember right, it's still not finished yet and all the tankobons so far have been released in English.
