Fantastic Children Synopsis and Reviews on Anime-Source
Didn't like the style of the animation because in a single episode it changes feel from horror to sci-fi to adventure. Very confusing as i'm not sure what to make of it. However I'm still intrigue by the potential in the story, so I will be watching the next episode.
It starts off feeling like it going to be a vampire/horror flick as it gives fact upon fact of children who never die and keep reappearing throughout time.
However as time goes by the number of these children dwindle.
They children are looking for Tina. It does not mention where the children come from or the purpose of their search.
The children find an adult Tina who has just passed away. Her room is filled with paintings always repeating the same design which has a sci-fi feel to it. We are then introduced to the bad guy but no motives are mentioned.
Then it changes feel to using bright colours which made me feel like i was going on an adventure. Here we see the two main character Toma and Helga. Nothing much is known about them at this point except that Toma is an above average fighter. Helga does not say a word, just looks very spaced out. |

Can't believe I missed this show...it's magic. The horror debut already has you freaked and utterly confused. And the little band of children in black cloth is just cool. Then there's the sunshine-lollypop theme that jumps in, with the main character, that makes you feel like a kid again. AND THE MUSIC is overwhelming.
This is almost a ghibli movie turned into a serie. _________________ "A lullaby to close our eyes, goodbye." |

Its amazing... great story with much potential.
The character drawings are not really my taste, but thats not really disturbing.
Its been a while, since an Anime made such a great impression on me
I hopte the story stays that GREAT, and wouldn't freak out |

It's too early to tell how this will turn out, but this show has the potential to be really good. For some reason I love the art style. The story and art...they are really suited to each other, I'm not sure how else to explain it. ^^; I really like the opening theme, and I'm absolutely in love with the ending theme. All in all, I'm very interested in this series and am curious to see how it turns out. Can't wait for the next episode...I was wondering, is there some obvious place listing the air time that I managed to miss?^^; It'd be nice to have an idea of when fansubs are likely to come out, that's all.
BTW, did anyone catch all the names of the remaining five black cloak kids? I know who Agi, Hasumodai, and Taruranto (at least, I *think* I got those right) are but I can't remember the other two... |

@Yebyosh: you're welcome, I was surprised you didn't have anything for it yet in that vein ^^.
@Ningyo: the one girl's name is Mel, I believe... can't remember the name of the guy who decides to stop reincarnating for good. He seemed to be connected to her, anyway. She was devastated. By the by, they are picking his normal name "Konrad" and his discovery of x-rays from Konrad Röntgen, who discovered same. I was surprised to see Mel show up with him as an adult.
Yes, this series feels like a fallback on Miyazaki's World Masterpiece Theatre stuff. I also hope the producers can get the story coherent out of all those flashbacks and fast forwards ^^. I love Tohma ^^ AND his mum. |

Konrad Lugen (Röngten) = Paruza
It was a quite funny idea to think that this guy was an alien
But they got it quite historical since Röngten really discovered the x-rays by chance.
My favourite is Tararantu, that brat looks so evil/cool |

BTW, is the episode 3 fansub available anywhere? I didn't see it under New Releases. I've been checking quite often.^^; |

Glad I stuck with it after my initial dislike. The story is getting more interesting at episode 13. Pacing for the story is a bit slower then I would like but it seems to be taking shape nicely. Also how the characters are drawn take some getting use to.
Expected the alien part but not that they would be going to kill Helga.

| Great Anime, but I was kinda disappointed by the "Greece" part ( if you know what I mean. ) |

I felt like they explained too many things too quickly in episode 13. But then, I'm also glad to finally have an explanation for what's been going on.
I wasn't surprised about the alien part either, or about Helga/Tina's identity, but I too would never have guessed that they might have to kill her. I think the Zone and Enma are really interesting. And Thoma's obviously involved in all this some way he doesn't know yet. Also looking forward to finding out exactly what Duma's goals are, and why he's in opposition to the Girishian scientists (I know it's "Greece" but in my head it will be Girishia unless some reason to call a different planet "Greece" turns up later. ^^; )

| Well, episodes 14 and 15 are out, and I'm starting to think that Gherta ( the woman scientist in charge of The Zone ) is that white-haired girl that was taken by Dumas... |

I'm having those suspicion's too.
And do I even need to mention Thoma's resemblance to Soran?

I agree with both Ningyo and Ganiam.
My question would be how did Soran come to Earth? |
