i think the rewinding is just to explore the other characters. rena was pretty much the main girl for the oni chapter so its mion's turn.
shion is so much hotter. but theres definitely some weird personality disorder mixed in these twins. shion and mion most likely switched places alot already from what i see, and they can act both parts.

time for guesses on whether its mion or shion thats in the opening scene with the rika stabbing.

or shion might just be a ghost or projection or something, cuz rena said she never saw her before. meh, gotta wait and see i guess

episode 6

Well they bring back that photographer and Takano-san, only to kill them later on. But now it sheds some more lights on what they have done in order for them to get killed. And now, Shion and Keiichi are in the midst of this.

But really, at the end, I think that was Mion and not Shion that calls Keiichi. They even played with my mind!! If that was Mion, then she really acts like Shion and play out her bait well. (Though I think she will be crushed)

Is it just me or that there are a lot of inconsistency in later episode, like the timeline Keichi meet the photographer and the police are a lot faster than what episode 1-4 suggest?

Also in episode 1-4 he seem surprise to something he had known beforehand (epsiode 5-6), like when Shion told him at episode 6 that both Tomitake and Takano had died that night, on the next morning (I assume) when he meet the police he seem awfully surpise when the police told him the photographer had died (it almost like he never know news, and I doubt he is faking it, just see how lame he was at lying :p)

There are also some obvious changes as well, like one in ep2 where the police said 1 people died and 1 other spirited away, while in ep6, Shion said they both died. Also, Keichi being told about how the things going (1 people died and 1 spirited away) before the Watanagashi begin (with Shion there), and then in ep2 around river bank, he meet with both of the reporter and got the explanation again. As an addition, he though who the hell that girl is (Takano-san) when he had meet her before.

Oh, and I just rewatch ep2 and there is one part that is really contradictive. In ep2, you can see that the photographer was taking picture of Rika-chan doing the ceremony, and Keichi is in the watching the ceremony surround by his "friends". While in ep6, the photographer is far far away from the ceremony and Keichi was all alone before Shion appeared and dragged him to the store house.

This is just some of them that I found, I am sure there are some more. So, what do you guys think? Is it because the studio screw up, or because the story come from diff person perspective? Sorry for this lengthy post Smile

I don't think the studio screws up.I think because eps 1-4 are from a different chapter of the series(Demoned Away Chapter) while eps 5-6 is from Watanagashi chapter.Both chapters start at the begining of the series.What I mean is:it like you go to same goal twice,but each time you take a different path,so the change in story is certain.That's what I think.

from the inconsistent timeline, i think this isnt really a flashback. more of a time rewinding. like the movie groundhog day. except, somethings are changed to get a desired result. mabe oyashiro screwed up by killing kei and the girls in the first chapter, so he rewinded time to try again. oishi seems much more police like and less concerned where he was a major factor in the first chapter, so oyashiro changed him. but then shion appears and takes oishi's place as kei's informer.

different settings, different events, different outcomes. watanagashi will probly replay over and over again, until oyashiro's desired outcome is realized.

well, pretty convoluted and overall complicated storyline, so its probly not that. but i cant think of any other weird explanations.

So, shion had ALREADY dissappear?!!! It was Mion all along??! And Rika and Satoko went missing too... my oh my

Rena was unusually perceptive and cute though this episode... but hell Mion was creepy even with her distorted face. And that laugh at the end, damn.

Reading the previews, it will end at next episode, I bet? Looks like judging from the text, Keiichi gonna be the "bait" to "catch them red-handed"

Sidenote: Kudos to wind special fx team. The "no blood" effects is really good. Changing from the usual font color to deep, blood red

wow that was a crazy episode (7) ..

with all the plot twists to who he was talking too .. who confessed to whom and when .. whether it was shion or mion he was talking too .. that crazy look of mion's while she was shaking the ladder and the crying turned to hysterical laughter followed by a sudden hang up...

.. gosh this series is so far is A LOT better than i had initially thought it to be ..

i dont mind the blood and the killing but the thing that spooks me out is the reaction or the expression from the killer.

Like I said before, they are doing a reset, so that the story can be told when different things are happening and different circumstances arises. You can call it "parallel universe" for every arc, but I prefer the word reset (since characters, time and place settings and storyline are (almost) the same)

i agree with mistabean because in the oringal doujin every chapter is different starting around the time before the fesival. but i think each chapter gives you more and more information about the event and the cause behind this mysterious curse.

i dont know about this but in the beginning song u could see shion and mion. but something there is something on mion's back maybe it got something to do later in the arcs.
