Silent Hill, the movie

I just saw this movie yesterday (Friday, April, 21, 2006). Please, please Uwe Boll, stop making horrible movies that are based off of really good video games. You’re giving the video game community a bad name. Why can't you just lose the ability to walk, speak and think and go live on an island far away. Oh, but wait, he didn’t make this movie?! I could have sworn that that this piece of shit was his doing. From the ridiculously dumb-witted acting to the over excessive violence and gore, one would think that this was Uwe Boll's creation. (Uwe Boll actually didn’t make/direct this movie).

Silent Hill’s violence and gore defies explanation. Never before has a movie truly disgusted me as much as Silent Hill has. I walked out of that movie with horrible, disgusting images stuck in my head; images that are just too sadistic for me to describe (I'm really not joking). A word of warning to the queasy and squeamish: Do not see this movie. There will be image's that will make you want to break down in tears or just run out of the movie theater.

The violence is just so unnecessary. It serves no purpose what so ever to the overall plot or storyline, nor does it add anything. It's just violence for the sake of violence. It's actually quite sad and VERY disturbing that a director actually wanted the viewer to see what is presented onscreen. Again, the violence and gore in this movie is just so over-the-top and very gratuitous.

Also, it's ironic that even though this movie is based off the second Silent Hill game, if you actually play the second game, there really is not that much violence and gore. The violence and gore that the game does have; it no where near compares to what is found in the movie.

If there's one thing that could be said that would be considered a positive, it would be that the movie does look good. The CG is really nice and the colors are rich, dark and vibrant. The creatures are well done too.

The acting is well, think of it as an Uwe Boll movie and you'll get the idea.
I would really like to get your guys opinions on the movie (Those of you have actually seen it). I hope I'm not the only one who feels the way I do.

I'll just have to wait for the DVD release of this MUST SEE MOVIE.

and about your comments onthe "Disturbing" scenes on the Movie...I'll just have to see it for myslef when it comes out on DVD.

and see how "Disturbing" it really is... Exclamation

(and I'm not new to the SIlent Hill Series btw).

It's not so much the movie being scary it's more so the mood that the plot sets out as you progress through the movie. Certain actions that they remain hidden from you forces you to use your brain to figure out whats going to happen next.

Overall I'd say that it was a decent movie, the thing it lacks most is more explanation of the events that occur.

Hmmmm...I as a bit grossed out at parts rather than afraid. I must say that this movie failed to meet my expectations. I didn't find that their portrayel of the story to be that good. Mmmmm...however, they did do some parts suprisingly well, and the acting wasn't half bad.

The only complaint that I have left is..."I smell sequel."

I am a new fan of the Silent Hill sereis, and since I did not have too much to go on I was very pleased with the movie. SO much in fact that I saw it again right after . True that this particular horror movie was more like "wtf" than scary, that is exactly what Silent Hill as I know it to be is. Everything is meant to disturb you, not to scare you exactly. In that respect, this movie accomplished the goal of the game.

I must be really messed up in the head because I did not find anything in this movie to be very disturbing. I think if they wanted to disturb you they would have just put in like, EVERY part of Silent Hill 2 in it.

I'm a big fan of the game, but still haven't seen the movie yet. I heard that it’s #1 at the Box Office. Anyone seen it? How is it? Anyone seen or have this: http://www.konami.com/silenthill/she/ ? It's a PSP "game" that has lots of Silent Hill extras, like the two comics, lots of behind the scenes-type stuff from the movie, and I guess music from the movie and games too.

I just watched this movie via BT and I wasn't very satisfied sicne the video quality that I got was sooo blurry that i deleted it as soon as I finished watching it.

Now to wait for the DVD release of it^^
