I agree. Nintendo's aim is to make everyone play the Wii. If I'm a grandmother, I wouldn't buy anything that's called Revolution. Even if it's just a name for a DVD player, maybe I still wouldn't buy it. And certainly not for my granddaughter because it doesn't sound like she should be playing it either. Well, that's if I'm a grandparent.
I also think the price for the controller is pretty decent. If you look closer, the controller is made out of pretty expensive technology. Not so easy to make and sometimes I think that they made the consoles to be a bit pricier so they could lower the price of the controllers. But I'm not sure if that's the case. If you look at the PS3's controllers, each cost $49.99 USD...
You guys should check out this site where they had a convention with senior citizens. Here's an excerpt I stole from it:
a Nintendo rep told a grandmother who played Wii Sports Tennis the system costs $249.99, the grandmother responded with “that’s all? Her five year old or so daughter pulled her grandmother’s shirt and said “Can I have it? The Grandmother then asked where she could buy the Wii and walked off.

i think wii is difenetly better than revolution, revolution sounds like a project name (which it was) wii sounds a lot more fun than revolution althaugh wii is not necessarily the best possible name..
I couldn't care nless baout the name. That controller will change the face of gaming. If you want amazing graphics, buy the 360. If you want innovation get the wii. Or for the price of one PS3, just get both. This is commonly reffered to as Wii60. _________________ Official winner of the A-S Worst Thread Ever Award

In my local mall they have a Wii demo set up.
It's really fun and well worth the $250. GET ONE!!!!
I know as soon as I have the money to get one I will.
It comes with the sports game and Zelda will be available on launch, so that will be enough to hold you over until the more titles are available. _________________ [IMG:486:126:0059d8062b]http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/4739/blackguillotinesigadmj5.gif[/img:0059d8062b]

that is the corniest name I've ever heard... and now I'm hearing that the controller is called a "wii-mote" they've sunk to an even deeper low _________________ GTX: Great Teacher Xeno... my daily blog about teaching in an elementary and middle school in Japan (see right-menu)
Its Nintendo guys, how can you even say its corny after you been through Mario.... anyways the Nintendo Wii is cool guys with its new innovative edgy remote, maybe they were force to do this since they had a good chance of losing if they went for the HD route. But you get to play zelda with it... Comeon Twilight Princess has been what many have said to replace the old greatest game of all time, it worth the get.
Anyways Wii has a nice ring to it, and looks quite nice with those two iis looking like people
Viva la Wii! _________________ [img:500:100:9a104f9601]http://img437.imageshack.us/img437/4315/xlaws7tf.jpg[/img:9a104f9601]
More like you will spend more in accesories than the Wii itself. I think the cheap cost of Wii was just a gimmick for what the real cost of Wii is...
Um, in case you didn't realise it the both parts of the Wii controller together are only 10 dollars more than the PS3, or Xbox360 controller. And it has data storage in the Wii remote, as well as rumble, and a mini speaker, which the others don't. You also have to remember that BOTH of the controller parts are motion sensored. It is more accurate to say the PS3 controller is a gimmic, since it is 50 dollars and all it has is a crappy 6-axis motion sensor.

Did they have fanbase? Did they have quality games? Did they have technological advances? What they only got is that controller
Yes, more than for any of the other systems. Yes, they have good games like Zelda, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Red Steel, Raving Rabbids, Farcry, Madden, Final Fanstasy CC, Fire Emblem, Metroid Prime Corruption, Call of Duty 3 and Excite truck, just to name a few. I think the PS3 just has RIIIIIIIDGE RAAACER! And yes they did have technological advances. Play Red Steel and you will see what I mean.

I will show you the graphics of Wii. There's a site here, and its not that good. BELIEVE ME.
Well, actually the graphics are pretty good. Again, play games like Metroid Prime Corruption, Call of Duty 3 and Red Steel to see how amazing they are. And in case you still haven't figured it out, The Wii isn't only about graphics. Their motion sensor design totally changed the gaming roadmap, and set the pace for the future of gaming. BELIVE ME.

Why call it Wii anyway? Revolution is much better. There are many jokes about Wii especially in the boards of gamefaqs.
Because Revolution is not only cliche', but it sounds like a project name, which it was. Wii sounds like a name for all kinds of gamers. Do you think an onld granny is going to buy a "revolution" For her kids? The Wii is for everyone, not just for insane PS3 fanbois with too much money. And only Sony changes their product whenever someone criticizes them. I.E. Ditchong the boomerang controller and copying the Wii.

I'm kind of ticked off that the Wii's price is $250. I'd rather get the console for $200
Um, sorry did I hear you right? Did you just complain about the price of the most inexpensive console on the market, a system that is only half the price of the PS3. Not to mention it has a free game. Talk about picky.

hey guys! i have played the Wii and I'm currently trying to make a dent in the Zelda game @___@ haha, it's pretty hard to play. i also managed to get through most of Red Steel even though it's friggin impossible to play. I waited a total of *drum roll please* 16 hours in front of Best Buys. Everyone else that waited, I feel for you Haha, but a couple nights before I skipped school on friday and waited a little over 18 hours for my PS3. @_____@ _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please >
Red Steel hard to play? Mabey for like the first 10 minutes. If you actually play it for a little bit they become really easy. All my friends were turned off at first, but now we all play it.
You only waited 16 hours for the Wii? There were like 30 tents in the line I was in. In fact there were more for the Wii than the PS3 at my Best Buy. I waited a total of around 36 hours and I was still number 7 in line.[/quote] _________________ Official winner of the A-S Worst Thread Ever Award

i just thought that red steel didn't flow that well. like the gameplay with the controller didn't run as smooth as the Wii Sports games did. Like in Wii Tennis the actions are really good and you can get a pretty accurate reading on your movements, but in red steel the controls felt a bit awkward. But I guess it's okay because it is a launch title. _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please >

To put it simply it's a different kind of game. Wii sports measures very simple movements, but red steel has to aim very accurately down to less than a millimeter. _________________ Official winner of the A-S Worst Thread Ever Award
