I have to say I was really impressed by the first episode. I can't wait to see more as I think this will be one of the best animes this year if they can pull it off.
Mad House did Monster and they did a fine job on that so I'm hoping that this will be the same.
Here's an interesting vid I saw on youtube when searching around for death note.
Anyone know the song?

Just watched the first episode today... and Light's seiyuu is the same as Tamaki's (couldn't help but sqee at it for a bit). The animation is looking real good and I'm quite liking the atmosphere of it (although i think if i watch this at night, I'll get nightmares lol).
The scene where Light's writing down the names of the criminals in the Death Note with the effects were pretty cool, the music suited it, I couldn't help but chuckle at it afterwards though.
Looking forward for the rest of it.

It was quite interesting to hear Yamaguchi Kappei as a very serious L. Mostly used to hearing him as Ranma, Inuyasha, Usopp from One Piece and Hideyoshi from Law of Ueki. To mention a few. |

It's fun to see death note again. I stopped reading the manga when chocolate boy and pajamas rose to power. I got bored of the manga so I did some investigation and found out something really odd about kira.

He likes to play the invisible guitar!
I had to edit the photo to get that terrible picture out of my head.

Now he's the god of music. |

Pantagruel--> OMG he is too!! lol
Eppie 2 was so good too!! I'm loving Death Note more and more. And I'm really happy with L's seiyuu also
Loved the part when L was exposing where Kira was...the delivery of that scene was really good!

Pentagruel = Genius!
Brilliant!
I never read the manga, but with names like chocolate boy and pajamas, I'm starting to wonder what I'm missing! Or are they nicknames...? |

They're just nicknames to avoid spoilers. I didn't have very high expectations for Death Note when it was first announced, I was mostly afraid that they were going to mangle such a brilliantly written story, but the first couple episodes have left me rather impressed. Light seems to be portrayed a bit more evilly than I ever got the impression of him being while reading the manga... other than that I'm loving it.
By the way, not sure if anyone else knows this or not (the information is easily found), but Aya Hirano, seiyuu of Haruhi Suzumiya is doing the part of Misa.
As for the anime itself, it's slated for 39 episodes, so I'm quite certain they're going to cover the manga all the way up until the big major turning point where most people stopped reading the series, and then end the anime there. |
