Heh, this series is my all time favorite anime-wise I would say. Can't get enough of it, I can only pray that they will pick it up again sometime in the future...
For those that wish to actually take a look at the book, I found the english translation of the first two books here:

Well, the anime is the best anime in 1998. I've wacthed it till the end and really hoping to find the novel. Anybody can help me???
The ending of the anime left many mystery indeed...
If anybody know where I can find the novel or download it, please e-mail me or just reply the post here.
The english version of the twelve kingdoms novel will be release by ToykyoPop march of next year. If you can't wait that long, you can always read the translated version of the first 2 novel at the link I posted above...

it's always like this. By accident I stumble on to some "random" series and think to myself *meh* I've got nothing better to do, so lets give this series a chance.
This is by far one of the best series I have ever seen! Because my vocabulary is limited I would like to yell out simple words like "OMG!" and such. But such thing would not be proper in the presence of so magnificent series as this.
Praying for the heavens that this series would be allowed to have an ending it deserves ( as soon as possible...please?)
Truly this proves my point that I have been muttering by myself for aeons (Yes I do talk by myself when I m lonely, what of it!?) That instead of coming up with clones of each other that spew out the same cliches. Anime studios should start buying licences of novels, from writers from all around the world, not just Japanese one but western ones as well.
I for one would like to see, for example, just what kind of series the could make out of Robin Hobbs novels, such as The Farseer Trilogy.
Now now I know you're making faces out there. But just think about it! I could work. Of course this is but a foolish wish, but maybe just maybe it could actually come true some day! (And work) _________________ ~Everybody says that I am evil, but that's not true.
