Enchanted ~ I actually thought I would find this stupid but surprisingly enough I enjoyed watching this. Sure it was filled with corny moments and what not but that's what gives it that classic disney feel |
I wasn't expecting much out of it either, but I thought the mocking of the genre was hilarious. They really nailed all the stereotypes those movies borne over the last few decades.

2D movies are probably a thing of the past... not so much for the artistic value, but because of the technology available, why revert to old methods?
My updated list:
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: not great, but definitely satisfying. See it just to cross it off your list and catch up with the rest of the world. Has a lot of classic adventure-type action, but the storyline is a little slipshod.
Hot Fuzz: I had been wanting to see this for a long time, and now I finally have. The trailers and description were a little misleading, but I found it rather enjoyable.
Vexille: bah... great animation, but that's about all it has. Even the music wasn't all that awesome, which is shocking since they heavily advertise the fact that the sound was directed by Paul Oakenfold. Didn't care for the characters; found the story to be cheesy and dumb. Do yourself a favor and get Appleseed Ex Machina instead.
Inside Man: who doesn't love a good heist flick? I only bought this cause it was on sale, and then I left it on my DVD rack for months before I finally took it out of the celaphane. Almost as clever as Ocean's 11, but still get as engaging. _________________

Just finished:
National Treasure
[img:300:446:e029a4c787]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/80/Book_of_secrets_post.jpg[/img:e029a4c787]
fairly interesting, I love the whole puzzle and code breaking...
and
Jumper
[img:300:444:e029a4c787]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/37/Jumperposter.jpg[/img:e029a4c787]
I watched this for the sole reason that Rachel Bilson is there... I liked the concept though... makes me wish I can be like that... minus the whole being chased down part... _________________

Outpost
"In war-torn Eastern Europe, a world-weary group of mercenaries discover a long-hidden secret in an abandoned WWII bunker"
A pretty wonderful low-budget British horror flick. I like the realism and gave quite a good scare at times. One thing I notice was
The Black guy didn't die first! But then again its not a Hollywood film
Jumper- Worst crap I've ever seen in theater. I should be payed to see this. I think I should have watched Hannah Montanna at that time. _________________

as for me...
just watched...
KungFu Panda
Another CG movie... this seems like it could have been well made even if its just 2D... but I guess the CG adds a little more flavor to it... watched this with my brothers and thoroughly enjoyed it... The movie theater was packed with young kids, adults and anyage in between... though I found that the adults and teens laughed more than the tods... |
I just watched it too. So funny until the credits ends.
The needle (acupuncture) part is the most hilarious one.

recently watched...
Initial D
[img:179:230:15debabfc8]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d3/InitialD_film.jpg[/img:15debabfc8]
I haven't read or watched the original Initial D series, but yeah... This movie was alright... It felt they were kinda squeezing all they could in that short time frame of the movie at times... but can't do much about that... Something I watched just because it is there and had nothing better to do... _________________

Finally got round to watch Ocean's 13.
I find that it was actually better than 12.
yeah Initial D's alright...if you look past the fact that Jay Cou cant act...there for publicity sake. Then again, the main crowd watching Initial D are mostly anime fans of the series and fan boys/girls of Jay Chou. |

that's good to know because I really liked 11, but hated 12. I haven't seen 13 yet because I was afraid I'd be wasting my time on it. I think it's on my movie channel selection list now, maybe I'll watch it tonight.
Last night I watched Shooter... Mark Wahlberg's film. Oh haruhi, was it awful. The acting was the atrocious, the writing was laughable, the plot was just stupid. It's one of those movies that thinks it's being all smooth and calculated when in fact it's just retarded. So many parts didn't make sense and there were more holes in the story than in a spaghetti strainer. Don't waste your time with this one. I fell asleep after 90 minutes of it, and very rarely do I fall asleep during movies. _________________

High Fidelity: Awesome movie. Catherine Zeta Jones and John Cusack in the adapted form of the bestselling novel. Completely loved it and its portrayal of a man plain and simple.
Meet Joe Black: Wonderful movie that is highly underrated. Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins in this tale of a prolonged death.
The Incredible Hulk: All I can say is awesome. They got it right this time around, and Edward Norton was great casting. Cameo by Robert Downing Jr. Wonderful, simply wonderful. _________________ [img:450:200:d0a28f8b61]http://www.anime-source.com/upload/uploadFiles/9979.jpg[/img:d0a28f8b61]

recently watched:
Wall-E
[img:281:416:1beebc6089]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c2/WALL-Eposter.jpg[/img:1beebc6089]
A highly recommended show... This eerily depicts a future that is highly likely if we continue on with our consumerism...
A solid storyline; quirky and loveable characters though most of the show is given very little dialogue other than beeps and whizz of machinery (think r2d2) are the key success points in the movie...
kids might get a little bored in the beginning with nothing really happening... but it gets good in the end... _________________

Donnie Darko: Great movie. Frank is awesome and I needed to look up a hellish amount of crap to come to the conclusion that I don't really get it, but get the basic storyline, why it happened the way it did, and how that was possible, but not really the Mrs. Sparrow thing and the symbolism of it all.
The Butterfly Effect: Solid movie, though I'm not a fan of Ashton Kutcher, he did a decent job on this.
Fight Club: One of my all time favorite movies with one of my favorite actors Edward Norton. Awesome movie that had a nice feel to it and kept to the spirit of the book.
Wall-E: Good movie, reminded me of Idiocracy. Was funny satrically awesome, and decent visuals. _________________ [img:450:200:d0a28f8b61]http://www.anime-source.com/upload/uploadFiles/9979.jpg[/img:d0a28f8b61]

just "decent" visual?? c'mon... only movie that looked better than this was Appleseed Ex Machina. And yup... very similiar to Idiocracy.
My list for this week:
WALL-E.... near perfection; very delightful; funny and touching; visual masterpiece; music was taken in a direction that was important to the plot, but nothing epic
Idiocracy... how odd considering how similiar it was to WALL-E that it was on one of my movie channel this week; scary look at the future of humanity; I thought the scriptwriting in this movie was brilliant; now I want Brawndo... it has electrolytes
Ratatouille... I didn't think it lived up to the hype; I couldn't care much about the characters; visuals were okay; plot couldn't focus
Rising Sun... American cops investigating Japanese businessmen. I thought it was going to take place IN Japan, but it was in the US. A lot of the dialogue was in Japanese without English subtitles. Kinda odd, but I knew enough of the language to get the gist of it.
Die Hard... classic action film; built Bruce Willis' career... heh heh heh.. Carl Winslow... heh heh heh...
next up... Hancock... Wednesday ^___^ _________________
