I've noticed that when I log-on to A-Source after being away for a couple hours that some topics have yellow icons (which means someone has posted in between my last log-off and now). There will be any number of yellow marks, but when I click on one and read, then go back out to the main page, they're all white (marked as read) again, so now I don't know which ones I need to look at and which I don't.
How do I get unread topics to stay yellow until I've read them? I see the "mark all topics as read" button, but I'm looking for something that's the opposite of that. _________________ GTX: Great Teacher Xeno... my daily blog about teaching in an elementary and middle school in Japan (see right-menu)
That's ususally why I don't post until I've read a few threads first, but that is just me.
If you use the "back" button it still shows the yellow marks. What resets the marks is using the site's links to return to the forum index.
Funny how it is the exact oposite of what was going on about a year and a half ago:

In fact it's not about the lenght of the session, it's about the "Back Button" If you navigate throught the forums using the links made in it :
Kind of like this : Anime-Source.com Forum Index -> Suggestions
If you click on Anime-Source.com Forum Index to navigate back to the forum, it will keep the session alive and you will see new posts... If you use the Back button on your browers, it must change the value in your cookie and you're toasted, all post will appear as Old.
I admit thought, that this problem doesn'T seem to exist in other phpBB forums around the web, so there must be something we can do. I'll have to investigate a little.
Personally I don't really mind this too much, since I check only the threads that I'm interested in and use the tabs function on my browser when moderating to keep track of the threads I haven't checked out. It became second nature already. Anyway, you can just use firefox's tabs for threads you haven't checked out. _________________

I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden this issue kinda just fixed itself. It's so much easier now that I don't have to constantly keep reading the timestamps to find the latest posts. If anyone did anything to make this happen, thanks. _________________ GTX: Great Teacher Xeno... my daily blog about teaching in an elementary and middle school in Japan (see right-menu)
