The native Tupi word for the fruit was anana, meaning "excellent fruit". This word became the source of the word ananas, which is the word for pineapple in many languages.

i dont want a cherry....
lots of ppl are asking for teh l33t m@nG0z....they should add them....
cherries are ok, just wouldnt pick em over strwberries, which i wouldnt pick over grapes...

Hey! where are the LEMONS in the poll? those are the best... if it weren't for what they do to your teeth...
Melons are great too... and also tomatoes.
Yum.. cherries...
I guess there are too many to list.... but lemons are the best.

| I like longans better than lychees. White peaches are nice. Blueberries are the best! Kiwis are good but it's hard to find the perfect kiwi fruit. |

| I like durian. Granted, the odour it gives off is very strong, and it lasts quite a long while, it's still very good. However, since I live in Canada, all the durian they import over are all frozen, so it's not as great as compared to a fresh one. So I've switched to mangoes now. |

they importanted durians??? since when???
i live is a country where durians is always available(during its season) and here i thought ppl hates durians because it's smelly...sometimes i go to a hotel...they would put a big sign there saying NO DURIAN'S ALLOWED!!!
but i love durians...who don't...
yum yum...waiting for next season!!!
