I'm also those peole with millions of accounts!
And I was one of those stupid people that chose different usernames for each... so many usernames and different passwords. I make a habit of thinking of which sites to get rid of and which sites I have to keep. I've went over it many times, but I really do have to keep them all. It's always school related, or this one site is good for music while the other site is good for wallpapers. I also have many email accounts... too many!
But I don't get any of that junk mail stuff. I make sure not to check those boxes that say "to receive updates on yadda yadda". |

Well, security wise, it is a wise move, Himitsu, but sometimes, our brain are not trained to memorise so many passwords and usernames. In the end, it is a matter of whether which one you want to compromise: Security or universality.
Well, to list down a few:
1) Signed for 9 emails, but only check 2 emails (Yahoo! and GMail)
2) Signed for 30 forums, but only active in 6 of them!
Well, sometimes, the offer is just so tempting that you want to join in _________________

Haha I'm another who falls victim to signing up for different sites. My situation is similar to Himitsu's as I have a lot of sites for different uses for example a bunch of online stores, a blog, and forums. I however only have a handful of usernames that I repeatedly use, so that it's not as difficult to remember ^_^.
As for the problem with receiving useless e-mail after leaving a site, you can always mark those e-mails as spam and let your e-mail service filter it out. |

I've joined a few forum sites and I was only able to vist and check some of them for infos.
i.e. .hack, Metal SLUG, and Disgaea
so far A-S is the only forum that I ACTIVELY participate in every now and then. the rest...I check them every week or every month.
Good thing that I Only use the SAME uername and Passwords. _________________

luckily yahoo has some good spam filters. I never see much junk although lately for some reason, I've been getting more than usual in my regular folders. Whenever I do one of those surveys that I KNOW is going to generate junk, I use the name "joe." Not only do I get 200 emails each day addressed to "joe" but I also get junk in my snail mail.
And for legimate sites not trying to sell me anything... usually anime-related forums... I have so many that I forget my log-in names and passwords. A-Source and AnimeBoston are my two primaries though... I never forget those logins, heehee _________________

I'm a lazy bastard. Practically all my usernames are simple variations of one original. Ditto for my password. My laziness might come back to bite me on the arse but the hell like I care. I'm invincible.
I keep all my registration emails on gmail so I can just search up the password for the sites where you get assigned an arbitrary password. |

Spam mail may be avoidable, but registering an account is downright essential. The reason is simple.
I am quite knoledgeable in this subject as my past organisation was one of the leading causes of forced registration.
About a thousand members of the gnaa went from forum to forum and each one of them kept writing the words "Hot grits in my crotch" over and over under different names until piles of forums were so piled down with spam, they had no choice but to require signup. Blame me, I was part of the original campaign. I posted "hot grits in my crotch" over 1000 times on different forums. |

| Lets see I have two e-mails, I'm a part of this site and like three others but I don't really do anything on them, and then there is this one site that I play this one game on and I'm pretty sure that's it. hmmmmmm I think that's it. |
