Well today I got really sick to the point where on the way to school I fell off my bike (yeah...I ride my bike and I'm a sophmore and don't even have a permit). So my mom had to come get me and she decided that she would buy me something; seems like some sort of pity present xD. Oh well, so I went to the local comic shop and picked up some comics. Of course, this time around I didn't buy manga and just opted to get some Marvel comics. That's right! I bought Marvel: Civil War#1 for $3.99 and holy crap this is a bad ass comic.
Basically the story is that there's a new hero registration act that makes it so that all heroes have to show their identity and work for the government. Some heroes say "no, this is f**ked up" and others say "this gives us credibility."
Factions are formed, and alliances are broken. The question is "whose side are you on?"
This is a jumping on point for me for Marvel comics (I've never before read comics from Marvel besides the X-men series; which was like when I was 6). I think that even if you don't know half the super heroes in this comic you should still check it out. _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please > |

I've been hearing a lot of good reviews for The Watchmen. Do you think it's a good comic ? _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please > |

| The Watchmen comics are as powerful and engaging as anything I've read in comic book form. The writing is very good and the images are awesome. The only problem I have with it, and it's very minor, is that it can seemed a little contrived at times in all its 'epic-ness'. For me, the comic's strong characters are its greatest strength. |

I went to the local shop and they only had an in store copy for casual readers to look at so I cracked it open and it seemed a little too wordy, in the sense that it didn't seem to have a whole lot of action in it. Sorry to say, but I like action in my comic along with a compelling story. xD
Now I have to wait for them to get some more copies of The Watchmen. _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please > |

*whispers* you can download it
That's what I did. But I also plan to buy a copy. Found the whole thing at Kinokuniya for $22. A sure bargain. |
