by listening to a different language constantly or long periods of time you will eventually pick up that language it's enivitable but it would take $@%&ing ages, a good kids anime that speaks slow....ish is Kokoro library. but it would be easier to enrol in japanese lessons/classes.

Well, I learned a much through anime. But not good enough to translate sth and stuff. Just the standard things. ^^

I've watched a crazy amount of animes and all i've learned are 'da jo bou' and 'baka' ..... im hopeless.

learning from anime is kinda dangerous, but it is a great tool for getting used to hearing it spoken. I say it's dangerous because lets face it nobody actually talks that way. But I find it can be useful in learning some random words. The best way is to go to Japan, next best is to take classes, and get language partners. Language partners are people who are native speakers that you get together with for the sake of talking in that person's native language. You learn all kinds of interesting things about culture and language that way.

I only learned three or four phrases, but i am good with that. I doubt if i will ever be able to understand Japanese >.>
