it's called kureyon (crayon) shin-chan in english translation from japanese. but it's not really a translation anyway, just a very ambiguous direct interpretation. _________________ ... perfectly ambiguous
To improve japanese animes could be a good listening exercicse allthough carefull a lot of animes come up with their own particular way of speaking japanese and catch phrases. There are some foreigners in japan who speak an "anime" japanese, it can sometimes get you in very weird situations.
Anyways more light manga like love hina or boys be have a more day to day language and fairly easy to understand albeit not very exciting stories though;
Not going to happen. It may help you study for your class, but it's pretty useless by itself, especially if you're like me.
When I hear a non-English language that I don't understand, my brain just discards everything as if it were background noise. This is especially true if it's not short phrases, but instead constant rambling. _________________ The pen is mightier than the sword
But the sword is so much harder to silence than the pen.
haha, it sactually pretty effective, becuase inorder for one to learn a language, you must apply it on a daily basis, so lol ive learne dlike gomenasai and other random phrases ^^ll yes!

id say a genuine intrest is whats really needed when learning a language. If u go into it half assed i can almost guarentee it'll be a lot harder to even get down the baisics. Id say if u really wanted to learn japaneese thoguh youd go to japan cause immersion is from what im told the best way to pick a language up fast. _________________ "Let them hate, so long as they fear"
Learning Japanese by watching anime is pretty useless because in the end after watching hours of anime you'll only know a few words. If you really want to learn than take lessons.

haha even if we watch coutless hours of anime, we can only learn a few words i mean seriously trying to understand even the basics of the japanese language is extremely difficult just by only watching anime.
I've been watching anime for 12+ years and I'm still not fluent in Japanese. I know quite a bit and can usually watch a raw episode and know about 85-90% of what is said. The thing with anime is that usually they speak in a colloquial form. So if you want to learn how to speak Japanese for the sake of conversing with other Japanese people, anime might not be the best form, but if you want to learn it just to understand what is said in anime, then yeah, go for it. Learning through anime works, but it is a long drawn out process, and you pretty much end up only understanding what others say, and have difficulty in saying what you want to say. _________________

Actually it really isn`t that easy learning japanese ONLY from watching anime. First of all, because the structure of the sentences is much different from english and other gramaticall differences (japanese grammar is in my opinion much much easier than english, german or italian for example) The hard thing is learning to write . U can pick up words, but forming sentences may prove more difficult.
So I think U should get yourself Japanese learning viedeo or tape (I prefer video). Then U can look for things U learned in the anime and this way U really remember them. It`s good practice.
If U`re using a P2P program, U can even get things like that (learning videos, mp3, books...), maybe even torrents exist, I don`t know, Just that the options are limited. I know U can get Japanese Basic (the title of the video).
U can make notes from that if U want, and then slowly, u can start picking up things from anime too. It`s just more affective if U start with some hard basics first.
Anime I used was Fruits basket, Angelic layer, Final Fantasy Unlimited it`s all stuff suitable for children, but U dont feel completely stupid for watching it ( Fruits Basket is also one of my favourite anime)
Later I realized, FullMetal Panic was usefull too and Trigun.................. when U pick up a thing ot two, all anime will become usefull, because U realize U can understand more and more of what they`re saying.
