If you really want to learn Japanese, I reccoment you to take a Japanese learning course rather than trying to learn it from Anime because it is very hard to learn that way... _________________ I don't want to kill you, so you better don't make me do what I hate to do... |

| I think Kaitune is right. If you want to learn all the good stuff, you gotta learn it from real lessons or online tutorials. Anime is ok, but will be a slow process. |

Dude, you have to submerse yourself in the place for a little while. Watching anime only gives you a little bit of an idea of what to say after you've seen so many series. Take a friggin' class if you really want to learn japanese. _________________ Life is an opportunity waiting to happen |

When watching anime to learn japanese i would advise to watch it once without subtitles. When the subtitles are there, for me at least, i subconsiously become reliant on those floating words over flashing images.
Also, Aishiteruze Baby helped me a bit. Yuzu is only a small child so her vocabulary itselfs isnt that big and the fact that she repeats thigns often.

o0o0o.... Aishiteruze Baby, if i'm not mistaking is that the anime with that lil girl on HaroT3K signature? i've been wanted to watch to anime for soo long!! but i went to animenewsnetwork to make sure but there was no anime name like that...
where can i get this anime?
and to get back on topic.. i've also watched alooot of anime and i've only picked up few words also. i also got jap class again this year, i'll try my best to learn japanese this time instead of cheating for A's like last year haha |

I think you will learn japanese better if u first study @ school
and together, develop it with watching anime
but..anime alone..can't make u better in japanese |

While I did pick up some Japanese by watching subtitled anime, it's only bits and pieces and only the very common stuff (greetings, taunts, honorifics, yes/no, etc). The only real way to learn a new language is through studying it (whether instructional or by self study) and immersion into it. _________________ For love and justice, I am Sailor Enlil!

Might be easier if you learned from google, then used the anime's as additional sessions, but verify the words if you're not sure. I, myself, have learned a few words from Japanese Animation as well. |

I think that they both serve thier purpose. Classes have the structure you need to establish sentence structure, build a vocabulary, etc.; they serve as an excellent base for you to start. They also give you your writing foundation...VERY IMPORTANT. But no class that I've seen teaches you how people actually talk. Most of the animes are pretty good for that. Although my education is nowhere near complete. _________________ Sweep the leg, Johnny! |
