hmmm, a bit of a dark episode, that episode 7. Well, searching for reasons to live was never and never will be easy, especially if you have another shadowing you.

And is that a suicide attempt by Hagu?

Well, I went and spoiled myself by watching the RAW version of episode 8. I won't tell you what happened to Hagu, but I will bring forth a question regarding the episode 9 preview:

Who here (outside of the people who already read the manga) thinks there's a chance that Yamada might start liking Takemoto. It's obvious that she's trying to get over Mayama and I'm not exactly sure whether or not she actually likes Nomiya. The preview clips show Takemoto and Yamada hanging out by a flower shop. She gives him that coy smile and he gives her that dumbfounded look, which usually suggests one person likes the other. Before the credits, it shows Takemoto consoling Yamada at the hospital where Hagu is at.

Now, the logic is not all that bad. I would like to think that Yamada is merely more comfortable with somebody that she can easily confide in and has been friends with for a long time. I could actually see her starting to fall for Takemoto (for some reason, I find that much more appealing than Nomiya). This, paired with that Takemoto/Morita/Hagu triangle; it will be quite interesting to see how it all plays out (according to some sources, we may only have four or five episodes left since it's fast catching up with the end of the manga).

The chance of Yamada liking Takemoto is.....well......not out of hand, but more like a small %. Well the reason being is because of their age differences........well thats what I think.....I know I know.....How about the relationship between Rika and Mayama, you might say? well Takemoto isnt as.........."fully" matured like Nomiya or Mayama........and......WhAt?!? only 4-5 episodes left?!?...NOOO!!!!!!!!

In terms of maturity, I believe Takemoto tops both Mayama and Nomiya. I only say that because he did a hell of a lot of thinking during that bike trip of his. Because of that, he is dead set on his goals and what he wants to achieve and that has been reflected in the new found confidence that he seems to express (most particularly, when it comes to Hagu). It is that same confidence that I believe Yamada could easily fall for.

I know, it probably won't happen. I curse the Episode 9 preview for being so misleading. However, were it to come to pass, I would actually find it rather intriguing. If Hagu ends up liking Morita in the end, I would DEFINITELY love for Takemoto and Yamada, two broken hearted people, to get together.

Well, it will be a very unexpected pairing indeed if it turns out a Yamada/Takemoto... I didn't see that coming indeed

I was so tempted to come in here before I watched episode 8, but i didnt give in, and I'm glad I didn't spoil it for myself.

THANK GOD Hagu wasn't attempting suicide, but still...she's hurt pretty badly and there goes her dreams. It was sad, my heart was aching when I saw her on the hospital bad, wanting to know what was wrong with her hand...

and yes Takemoto and Yamada pairing would be a very big suprise...but I'm too much of a Takemoto and Hagu supporter, that I dont want that suprise Confused

Poor Hagu...i feel sorry for her!! Shocked

I hope she won't commit suicide now!!

As for Takemoto and Yamada...that would be unfair...Takemoto likes Hagu...Yamada entering another hopeless love affair would be pathetic!!! Though I really don't like it that she might end up with Nomiya... =p why not a Morita and Yamada...hehe...

About Morita...we really don't know anything about his personality!!! We never get to hear his thoughts or why he has this dificulty with human relationships...

This part is a 13 ep only...so...it will end soon.....booo

I don't know about Takemoto being so dead set on his goals. In episode 9 Takemoto was definately questioning his what he would do with his future. Support Hagu or go forward with accepting this job.. I think the story will definately get better.. I'm more interested in what Morita and Kaoru are doing..

well, It didnt look that way in ep 9 at all.....Yamada just caught takemoto tryin to buy flowers for Hagu............cant wait for ep. 10!!! weee!! Its totally getting interesting thats for sure..

Damn these recent episodes have been depressing

Episode 9...I was impressed with Nomiya's advise to Yamada, and the little bit between him and Takashi(?) and Miwako was funny (Nomiya's in my good books now). I'm finding Hanamoto-sensei amazing being so calm and composed, the way he's handling things...

And I've decided I love Takemoto's seiyuu...I can listen to him all day

Now bring on episode 10!!!

p.s. where can i get the Honey and Clover manga?

Well, the episodes are getting progressively addicting as the characters all continue with what's supposed to be their seperate ways:

Takemoto is seriously debating what to do. He can either a) watch over Hagu and find a part time job, hopefully being able to make enough money to stay in Tokyo or b) get a steady job back with those construction workers at the expense of leaving Hagu in her time of need. A bad situation to be in, especially when we know how much Takemoto is infatuated with Hagu.

Yes, the Yamada/Takemoto theory didn't pan out. I would still prefer that relationship over the Yamada/Nomiya one any day though. However, it actually looks like Yamada might just end up alone when this is all over; same goes for Takemoto. It's a little sad but I think that's what they're probably going to go for. Real life is not always happy and I believe it will conclude with some characters not fully satisfied with the world around them, but accepting it nonetheless.

Why read the manga? The anime has almost caught up to the end. You might as well just bear the last couple weeks of this anime and stay surprised the whole way. =)

What a lovely episode. It's very sad, but I think that adds much more depth to the relationship the individual characters have with each other. It's especially nice learning more about Morita's family. I always thought he was pretty two-dimensional until the last few episodes.

As an aside, I wonder if the mangaka has ever been to Chicago. The skyline with the Sear's Tower is drawn pretty well. It's as if Morita and his brother are staying somewher between Evanston and the city.
