Whenever anime-kraze subs it
Anyway, ep 13 is the end of the first arc (the next one is in modern Tokyo) so it's not too hard to wait. |

In Japan, Otogizoushi has shown up to episode 16 two weeks back and took a break the previous week. As can be seen on our database ( and Production I.G.'s site ), the series is 26 episodes long, split into the Heian period arc and Modern arc.
To put it like AlDim has said, while the Japanese continue showing their shows, fansubbers release at their own pace.
I had quite high expectations for this show before it aired. It kind of failed my expectations during the first few episodes but later it grew on me. Not the best of shows so far but still one of the more entertaining ones to me.
The current twist in suddenly changing the setting to the Modern Period and switching from Folklore to Urban Legends is interesting ( though we still have to watch a bit more to see how this theme will hold up ). Did I mention Hikaru in modern fashion sometimes really looks cutely hot? |

I watched the first 4 eps of this show and have 5-10 sitting on my comp. The animation is a bit odd and the story was a bit boring so far. Since I have a lot of shows to catch up on/watch, it's prolly gonna be a while before I start watching it again.
By the way, the bodyguards closed eye really bothers me for some reason. He’s not the type of guy who would get his eye poked out so adding a scar of some sort would have been appropriate. |

They just wanted him to look like Gatts Just one of the many things similar to or just ripped off Berserk...
Anyway, I don't particularly like Otogi. It's pretty much a Berserk-ish fantasy shoujo show with a mediocre plot. The only points of interest for me are the excellent visuals/style and the nice music. |

I didn't really catch the Berserkish feel of this anime in the few episodes that I watched. Are you talking about what comes later? |

Yeah, there are quite a few similarities, though this show is nowhere near the overall quality of Berserk. I'd say it's something like Fushigi Yuugi/Twelve Kingdoms meets Berserk.
The art direction and watercolored background style are very similar to Berserk (Otogi even uses detailed still frames in the same way), some char designs are direct ripoffs (Tsuna looks like a samurai Gatts and later on there's a monster-guy who looks like Zodd's twin brother), some battles are quite Berserkish, etc. There's even a big dude with a sword almost identical to Gatts'.

| *chuckle* Whatever the case, episode 14 onwards has hardly any similarities with Berserk. If anything, modern Tsuna looks like that idiot in Ikkitousen. |

| Eh? You can practically think that everyone died in episode 13 since episodes 1-13 was set in the Heian period ( 794-1192 ) and episode 14 onwards is set in the year 2004. They died and here are their reincarnations living out Urban Legends in our time. |

Ah, I was thinking more of some kind of magical portal opened and everyone was brought to the future and on.
Wonder if they'l completely change their appearance. _________________ "A lullaby to close our eyes, goodbye." |
