I thought we had a thread like this here, but a search turned up nothing and since this was a popular topic on another website forum, I figured I'd try it out here.

Tell us about your avatar and/or banner. What anime is it from (or if not anime, what other source?), why did you pick it, where did you find it, etc etc etc. Edit your posts or reply to your original if you change your icons.

Mine first, obviously.......
Avatar - Mikurua Asahina from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I picked it because Mikurua is my favorite anime character right now. I got the image from a screencap I took of the closing animation for one of the episodes.

Banner - nothing right now, I'm at work so I can't put together anything nice. I'm going to whip up a Suzumiya image to go with my advertising of my latest project, which has a hyperlink provided below
EDIT - ok, now I have a nice little avatar.. kinda like a story trail:
1) Haruhi gets an idea 2) Mikuru is instantly afraid 3) wacky mayhem ensues!!

Avatar~ Well my avatar is Takuto in his lil cat form from Fullmoon wo Sagashite, i have him as my avatar because i really dont know how to make my own that fits the AS forum criteria so i had to choose one from the AS gallery...and i've had yuki as my avatar for some time so its Takuto now...

Banner~ It's not really even a banner, i screen shoted the super cute bit of Tenma napping with Iori from the alternate sequnce to the ending of the first season of School Rumble, sorta cutted it out in paint, and i was like what the heck it can be in my sig. And the 2 quotes under it are quotes of what i found extremely funny, and couldnt stop laughing for ages.

My avatar has changed quite a few times... but I'm the Barry the Chopper avy that a first used when I started posting here again. I was a tech tard, had no idea how to put up an avy, so I just went to the AS gallery, and found this one, I found it very funny and it's rare to find any avies of Barry (hes my fav character in FMA, but for some reason, not many ppl like him).
Plus, apparently, this avy suits my personnality.... so Im told anyways~

Banner/Sig:
Once again, Iv had many sigs, and none of them were perticualry my favorit, Iv liked all of them.
The one Im using at the moment is a random gif I found on photobucket, and I thought "WOW, Way too CUTE!!! >__<"
And so here it is as my sig.

Seeing how I needed a suitable ava/sig set for the summer, I remembered a couple of Mai-HiME wallpapers with them at the beach. It felt pretty right to put Natsuki on the ava by herself simply because she was pretty distant enough from the others in the wallpaper, and avatar sizes aren't that big. So I just simply cropped everything around Natsuki, added some brightness and borders, and voila.

Banner: Mai-HiME View Image
This one is pretty simple, because I used the whole Mai-HiME wallpaper itself for my sig. As I have explained on the ava, and as you can see on the sig, it's summer themed. To add some pizzazz, I gave the background (excluding Nao, Midori, and Mai) that sort of zoom blur, which I thought was pretty cool. And lastly was my usual text and borders.

Hahah actually xeno I'm pretty sure we have a thread like this somewhere, if memory serves me right that is I think Himitsu made a thread similar to this long ago. Have a vague memory that I posted about the Black Cat avatar I was using at the time.

Anyway avatar: Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II, it's actually a fan art picture that I kinda like but it's more wallpaper big so I just used part of it. Besides he looked kind of skinny in the original. It was made by kyle krieger aka Zorah

Sig: lol can probably guess the image is also froom Kingdom Hearts II and yet again another fan art picture made by someone with the username Chiryu. I love the picture since it gives me a feeling of warmth etc.

As for the text I'm using hahah drac said it a few days ago on the LTE I liked it so I throw it into the sig.

Avatar: Pretty simple, its one of Itachi from Naruto. My 2nd favourite character of the series.

Banner: Again, pretty logical I have an Itachi avatar so now I have a Itachi banner/signature. Matching and good looking, easy as that.

current avatar: GIR from Invader Zim am not sure if its fan art or the original artist made it but it looks cool with all the blood...

previous avatars included the logo for Pol Medina Jr. Merchandise, the plushie lion in bleach and errrr uhh... hmmm i forgot!!! hahaha

current signature: Zinv from Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure... its actually just a silhouette of one side of his face... the rest of it is just crap i thought up.... meganekko actually did the banner for me since my version of it was too noobish for the site.. Very Happy

previous signature was a one panel comic strip of Rockman and at the bottom of it was GIR in a dogsuit dancing...

Ava & Siggy : They both came from one of my fav anime Hunter x Hunter As you see at the moment they both have Gon and Kilua in them! Very Happy

and my siggy is also from Naruto since the dialogues seems to fit the picture and their expressions (also from episode 101 which was funny as hell!)

this sure is an interesting topic.
lets see...
like much of the things ive done in life, my sigs and ava have almost none to no importance what so ever. Very Happy

im pretty sure my avatar is from kono minikiku utsukushii mo sekai : this ugly and beautiful world.
i just cant remember which ep it was.

and as for my sig, its from a Hgame called suigetsu. which i havent played Crying or Very sad

but i chose this sig because its cute, and i like waha; the girl with the orange hair.
its funny as well because for some strange reason dearka is in it :X

HERE it is. But it's only about your avatar and it's old. And since it's so hard to find, keep this one. We have the faithful A-S members to talk about their sig+ava this time.

EDIT: I don't have a sig because... I don't really want one at the moment. And my avatar is currently Yuki Nagato (favourite MoSH character!). I really like the image, I find it possesses a lot of emotions. Something that Yuki doesn't expose at all.

well lets see my avatar is from bleach of course and its of ichigo when he gets taken over by his hollow. the reason y i kept it the same was cuase at the time i joined bleach was my latest 'rox my sox' thing and the pic was very well done and now im jus waiting for ichigo in the anime to start using his bankai.

um my sigs are all custom made and i keep changing it cause i cant make up my mind on which on i should use. for now i have this which is a pic of a random girl with her face merged into the background and put a bit of animated rain. if anyone knows if the girl is from an anime then tell me cause u cant see it the pic but she has one wicked blade shaped like a moon and i wanna see her use it
