Why do people read manga?

started when i found this really cute pic of a girl and i found out it was fan art. took days for me to find the proper incription and after i found the title name, i typed it in google and bam! Ichigo 100%. First manga I ever read and it was right here on this site =D

Descriptive, inmaginative and good entertainment quality as the protaginist always gets girls so easy...I read it cause I dun want to do my studies...

I first got into manga because they were a combination two things I love: Comic books (up till then, I had only read western comics) and anime. I also continue to read them for a few reasons:

1. The stories are usually the original source for their respective animes. In other words, the manga came first.

2. Some manga follow stories that are different from the anime versions, such as Fullmetal Alchemist.

3. The artwork in many manga is absolutely incredible. Sure, it lacks the movement of anime (which can possess equally beautiful artwork), but its nice to be able to examine the picutures to find out what makes them so good without having to pause anything. It is also a great feat to be able to tell a story, especially one that has alot of fast-paced action, such as Naruto, using only text and still-shots.

I guess people read mangas because it is fun and it sometimes relaxes you... tells you a lesson in life or something like that... Reading mangas for some people are a habit and some for time to past... Smile

but i like it cause there's strong shounen-ai scenes.
started to like it more than the animes.

i really like art in manga, the drawings feel like art because of thier black and white nature, i dont sence much of that in colored comics..

I read manga to see the alternate lives of people around me or the other universes that might have actually existed. It's cool to see people of different personalities react to different situations and worlds full of creatures of all sorts and boundless possibilities. Manga attracts me more than normal books because of the beautifully drawn art, for example; how a single line on the face can entirely change one's expression and stuff... Wink

i only read manga if the anime dont cover the whole story

like any other hobby or form of entertainment.. people read manga because they enjoy it... some are offered that "new" experience... others because of the attraction to its unique art... some for the storyline....

you can't really pin it down to one reason...

Everyone has their own reason as to why they like reading manga~
In my case, I already started a long while back but I BOUGHT it..not realizing that there's far more better ones online..plus, some of them are free~XD

I read it mainly cause I LOVE the ART and I love the new senarios that people keep thinking up and different kinds of topics for books and etc.
