Because they're either ignorant or think its below them, comparing it to comics for children. |

Eh... I don't think people that don't read mangas are ignorant.
They might not have the time to read it.
Personally I haven't read mangas in a long time, only reading the ongoing Hellsing.
Back then I read mangas like crazy because everything was all new to me -_- _________________

I print the manga I Downloaded or I buy a manga at a store, reading is better than staying all day watching, atleast you try to build up your reading skills But watching is more fun XD |

The question is comparable with
-why go to movies
-why watch tv
-why read books
-why listen to music
Reading manga can provide you with stories that provoke emotions. Of whatever kind these are going to be. And in a manga these stories mostly are beautifully presented.
That's why I started it, I loved the stories and the pictures and in how far they match or don't.
After a while and a bit of extensive manga reading I learned to love the "scheme F " following stories. It's like tragedies: there you know people will die; in quite a few manga you know the plot will not advance over the next 20 books, but it's going to be funny, with a bit of heart-ache, mean cliffhangers, until the protagonists will live happily ever after. By now I don't really find the time for manga anymore, graduating and a boyfreind take more of my time than I would have imagined _________________ Ich fühl' mich unwohl ohne Kopf in der Straßenbahn,

Why read manga? Might as well ask the rest of the world why they read books? watch TV? watch movies? etc... Manga is simply the same as all of those just presented differently. Books, movies, anime, manga, whatnot all have their strengths. A same story could be portrayed differently through all these different ways. XD Thus, I like to read books, watch movies, and everything too. Yep manga is teh bomb! |
