I really just dont get it! Most of the cute and hot girls are really fall in love by these type of person, even though they have no good qualities on them.
And these girls are still inlove with these type of guys even though they know that the guy is thinking dirty things to them. And the guy always accidentally touch the breast of these cute girls and yet they're still wants to go out with him?!! It surely be a turned off for me if a guy do that to me...
err... that's ecchi? Sorry, I dont know. And I thought ecchi are the ones that U-JIN created like tales of series and recently Gakuen heaven. I'm really sorry...

Not really the eechi-element that decides that, but I think the better term would be "harem" (a group of cute girls all vying for the attention of one central guy). You can have eechi without harems and you can harems without eechi. In regards to the question about "why the geeky guy always gets the hot girl?" I think the short answer is... it's every nerd's fantasy. Honestly, many guys who watch anime might be more likely classified as the nerdy-geeky-dorky type (haha, I'm no exception... but I'm not saying all anime fans are dorks or only "cool" people watch regular tv... that's a whole 'nother debate, haha).
Anyway, back on track... anime fans want to root for the guy who is most like himself. If only the good-looking cool dudes got the hot girls, most of the otaku fanbase would probably glaze over or not respond in a positive light. It might actually make them feel worse about themselves in some remote cases. But anime is an escape... it's a world where people like us get to be the star, and lucky for us, the creators and producers are probably more like us than slick Hollywood phonies. The producers know their audience and they know what we want... and we want to see guys like us win.

In regards to the "pervy-types"... that's just how most guys are. Luckily we're not all groping the nearest girls we see, but I'm sure I'm not exaggerating when I say that most guys have had those thoughts. Some of us have morals though and would never take advantage of a girl. In the case of anime... Oh, I see... so thats what Harem is all about. I dont know about that, since the only harem I ever read until now was Love Hina and Tenchi Muyo. When I actually read Ichigo 100% and other ones like that, I'm shock to think that a guy can like that can have those girls.
And I thought actual japanese women actually dig those kinds of males. So its just a fantasy then...
It'll never happen in reality ryt?
BTW, Im also a nerdy guy(like other otakus like us), I only use this username because there's no other username I can create ryt now. I just cant think of any. This username was my sister's name BTW.

It doesnt mean that I dont like Love Hina. Infact, I like it. Its just it gets tiring when the same story is reharshed with every Harem manga.
Atleast make it more original. Like Love Hina the manga. Honestly, I dont like the anime. Theres even no story and character development at all. Its just Naru likes keitaro, and every girl in the inn likes Keitaro, even Otohime likes Keitaro, even though they dont know what they seen on him. And the love story about Keitaro was non-existent. Its just she likes him so it only means she loves him. And so as Keitaro as to Naru.
Thats why I dont like these kind of story sometimes. And dont forget about Ichigo 100%. Okay, Im ranting just about now, so I just stop here.
About my username, I use my sister's name because I dont like my real name as a username. Its not that appealing as a username and I cant come up with a good username either.

anyway about the nerds and geeks, well its all about the impossible becoming possibel and we all know that nerds and geeks do not get surrounded by hot chicks. disney allways did make the impossible possible =D. or it could be that the writers envision themselves as the protagonist and want to be surrounded by hot chicks, albeit its anime chicks but their still hot _________________ ALL HAIL LELOUCH
About the topic, its been 5 days before someone reply to this again. I thought this will be a dead topic. Anyway, not only that the nerdy guys gets the hot girls, THEY GET ALL THE TYPE OF GIRLS!
One example is Love Hina atleast the manga, not anime.

true keitaro did get all kinds of girls after him, personally i'm glad he didnt go after shinobu as well, she deserves a hella lot better. of couse it's not like any of us guys will ever get a chance to run an all girls dorm.

FACT: Motoko is BUSTY! Just read the manga Love Hina again. Have you seen Motoko when she bandage her breast right? And the author in his omake already said that Motoko have large cup sized breasts. I personally think it is 'GREAT' that the nerd/geek gets, well all the girls/women. Just like a lot of ppl have said, it is nice to see someone other than the 'hunk who thinks he is all that and yet the jerk' get all the girls. I personally think that it is sexy in Love Hina, when Keitaro is persued. Very HOT!! ( I already know I am weird, no need to let me know )
