Stompin' Bugs: Feel Good or Guilty?

here's an unusual question... what do you think about killing bugs? Is it something you do regularly? Do you try to avoid it if possible? Or do you have a strict no-kill mandate?

Personally, I don't like it. Not so much the blood and guts that I have to wipe up, it's just that I don't believe we should be so quick to deal out death. I know that I would hate it someone just strapped on a boot or grabbed a papertowel and squished me, I wouldn't like it.

Spiders, ants and most crawlies I can scurry onto a piece of paper and throw outside, but flys and anything with teeth/stingers, I'm sorry but they need to be exterminated. Exception is bees though, since I have melissaphobia... I usually run out of the room until the coast is clear.

what are your thoughts?

Insects aren't REALLY alive like humans. I mean killing dolphins, eating octopi and dogs is wrong because they are like pretty damn smart. but bugs are just bugs. Good source of protein.

I won't kill butterflies. I like web weaving spiders too. Silk worms are ok. insects Like ladybirds that get rid of uglier insects are ok.

Hmm...........other than that........killing stuff is a good form of therapy........better yet........you don't have to buy groceries after that.

) coz i find it annoying having to clean up after etc...

Although there are a few exceptions, all flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches must die!!! And I kill silverfish aswell since they eat clothes.

And spiders I usually kill them before they come and kill me Shocked

maybe i'm weird... the only bugs i can kill are mosquitos! I can't even kill spiders... not that i'm scared though.. i just don't feel like it's right Sad

depend on what kind of bug and where they are, if they terrorize my area they are doomed, and also those cockroachs mosquitos and of coz spider but that also depend on which species Smile

they enter my area and they deserve to be killed by me it an honour for them to be killed Razz

Lately there have been many cases of West Nile Virus in my area, and a frightening increase of mosquitos because of the intense rainfall my city has been subjected to. So unfortunately I am required to slay all mosquitos that come near me only because I dont want to be hospitalized by a tiny flying insect.

Flies I have to admit I kill constantly, espeically lately because I had forgotten to take the trash to the curb for pickup and I collected two weeks of garbage which the flies feasted on. So I basically had a fly nursery in my front lawn. Those made their way into my house so there so many that I killed them all. But if its only a few flies I usually just open one of the doors, wait for them to collect on the screen, then let them fly outside.

Roaches I despise. Ever since a few years ago when a roach almost fell into my mouth after falling from the ceiling I have hated them. They must die. No mercy for the roaches.

I have a very mild case of arachniphobia. I could get near a spider that is more than 1 1/2 inches big. So I dont kill them because I cant get near them. I have Julie do that for me. -_- Its a little sad I admit. But hey, I cant stand them.

Unless ants bite me I have no qualms with them. I have not had them in my house so I have not had to kill them yet.

Pretty much what truey does.

I constantly kill mosquitoes and roaches, I dont really feel bad since they're always bugging me. Mad

Spiders and other insects are left alone. I dont have any reasons to kill them. Razz

not all the insects deserve to die, but flies, roaches, mosquitoes and spiders do

damn!!! each night i go down to the kitchen to lock the doors, the whole place is full with roaches, i have to dance flamenco to kill them all

i lived the first 5 years of my childhood near a pier, so imagine how many flies there were at my house and how much i hate them.

mosquitoes..........i havent been bited by a mosquito in some time, but their buzzzz.....really freaks me out

and each time i see a spider i just slap it with my shoe, im afraid of spiders!!!! yet i think spider-man is cool Laughing

as for the Bugs...
It depends on what KIND of bugs they are. but there's a 50-50 chance that they'll live or DIE when I see them. And I just don't STOMP on them. I used to use other kinds of cruelty. Like Dripping wax on them, Sun's Rays Magnified by a Magnifying glass(more like a laser LOL), FRY them in oil or burn them with my Home-made Flamethrower.

It's just too bad that the one who saw them was ME.

wouldn't it be nice to upgrade this thread into those who do kill bugs, ask them what ways they do so.. Very Happy

i do mostly the stuff raiden did... the magnifying glass.. the flamethrower.. candle wax... drop them on hot pan with oil... drop them on hot pan even without oil... Very Happy

then there is the take out their legs one by one... or take out their mandibles... let one eat the others head off... microwave... glue preservation.... oh so many things...
