Cartoon's are done for. Anime's have become much more a part of our lives, and the lives of the youth. Anime is spreading. It's become a verifiable sub-culture that lives on it's own agenda. It can no longer be forced down and contained to small groups. With animes for fanboys like Naruto and Bleach(no offense to those that like em, but it's the truth), anime is become even more widespread. The otakus are becoming more and more accepted in soicety, and with that in mind, it becomes even widespread. 30 years ago, anime was an exclusive scene to only a few that actually cared enough and loved a good bishojou game. Now, we have conventions across the world, tournaments for games only otakus play, and even our own little clubs to discuss which episode of Haruhi was the best(Live a Live all the way!). american cartoons are realizing this and comforming to this new wave. As True-sama has said, Samurai Jack is a prime example. Now, we stand in the doorway to the future and look to the next generation with craves already picked out. Our lives now, more than even, influence our children. Otakus will rule the world! _________________ [img:450:200:d0a28f8b61]http://www.anime-source.com/upload/uploadFiles/9979.jpg[/img:d0a28f8b61]

carol, one thing that you need to know about cartoon and anime the term for anime is japanese animation and cartoon are also a form of animation just both was created in a different way to fill the need if the audiences..........
some certain people may like japanese animation and some may not, it goes the same thing otherwise for cartoon........
i say i enjoy watching animes more than cartoons, but other people here may have a different oppinion than me............so you cannot say that cartoon is more popular than animes as both have their own rating around the world........ _________________

But sadly, Genndy Tartakovsky abandoned it and switch to Star Wars: clone Wars...
Genndy shelved Samurai Jack for a while to animate Star Wars: Clone Wars. It was a big honor for him to be offered to work in George Lucas' most famous franchise.
You said Genndy is a anime fan. So Samurai Jack is an anime-influenced show. Just like the shows recently shown in CN and Disney Channel like MegasXLR and Totally Spies
Anime is Oriental and Cartoon is Occidental so there are differences between the two. Which is better depends from the watcher's point of view. _________________
