I LOL'd. Is that song sung by the same artist that sung Raion (Blood+ OP4)?
Newtype is too biased with anything Sunrise. Newtype name itself is reference of Gundam so...
I'm suspecting that there are equally many fangirls that read Newtype... Look at all the bishis... they are smothering out the pretty girls.

I don't understand the numbers... either there are a LOT of ties or I'm totally misreading this.
Anyway... Youko was there, so I am pleased.
It seems that Mikuru fared better than Yuki by a large amount, though Haruhi unsurprisingly mopped the floor with them both.
The girl from Pokemon was in the middle somewhere, so they must have asked a huge majority of anime fans. Even the lead from Galaxy Angel Rune was there... and in a decent placing too

I was refering to Shinku who was also #52, there are lot of draws in the rankings.
Stinku is the name we Shinku haters use.

BTW, hte song that Orange-kuns so delightfuly delivers is (probably) going to be the second opening for Code Geass... at least it is the same artist.
Of course! at least 009-1's killer breasts (pun intended) got recognized. but, yeah, the top 100 is packed with bishies... On the upside, no Gundam Wing characters made it (sorry GW fanboys, but those guys are worthless).

I don't know how reliable this poll is... look at the vote spread...
1 - 630
2 - 252!!
3 - 175
4 - 138
5 - 91!!
yikes... wow, this gives me better confidence in the poll we ran here last October. At least there was more competition going amoung the top spots... a 400+ vote difference between 1st and 2nd and then down to double-digits by just 5th place!! Yikes... I expect Newtype to be giving US a call asking how to run a proper poll pretty soon ^_____^

I have to agree that the A-S poll seems a lot more ballenced. It shows that although bishies do get lots of attention from a-sourcers (we did have a bunch), other things are factored in as well. We did have older characters, such as Vegeta from DBZ, and Guts from Berserk; many of the characters here are from very recent shows. I was honestly surprised to see Nausicaa there; she sticks out like a sore thumb. Kenshin and Onizuka, as far as I know, are well known and very popular among anime fans(unlike the overrepresentation of Gundam seed characters we can see here), here they don't make the bottom of the list. I wonder who was the poll's target audience, although I do agree with Silver that Newtype itself is biased for Sunrise stuff.
