ok first off if there's a topic like this i'm sorry, the search function only gave me the first page and nothing popped up at me
anyway wat do you think is the best way to start an anime? i was watching Final Approach and i loved how the first episode started, a girl parasails into a guy's apartment, strips the jumpsuit revealing a kimono under it and then revealing that they are to be wed because of some gov't experiment. i think that was the best beginning i have seen yet.

BEST SERIES START EVOR: Futakoi Alternative!! Cute loli twins with machine guns take down a warplane!!! beautiful and exciting!! The whole episode is kick-ass...

Best opening I've seen:
1: Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
The opening is spanned to 2 episdoes, but it's really good to show how the story starts where Haruka got hit by the truck.
2: Princess Mononoke
Start off with some exciting and fast action, how the guy fought the demon |

A first episode thet left me thinking "OMG I have to see more of this" was episode 1 of Code Geass. Seriously, it just swallowed me whole. We see some unhappy terrorists trying to ellude the police while poor Lelouch (well, poor then) is minding his own business when suddenly *bang* he ends up getting in way over his head in a manhunt and government massaccre... I won't put any more spoilers, but Episode 1 of Code Geass is among the best ever made, in my opinion. If you haven't seen it, check it out. You'll be itching to see episode 2 right away!

1. Full Metal Panic - When Sousuke's M9 tossed a Hind Gunship Helicopter. It was so good.
2. Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid - When the Arbalest destroys a Mistral class AS and all hell breaks loose.

| I think the best way to do it is to grab your attention so that you come back for more. Most of the time, this can be some form of action. But it doesn't have to be - I was blown away by the first episode of Death Note! |

the best way to start a show is kind of a loaded question, isn't it? different people have different tastes..... o well
i liked the start of Excel Saga... she dies 3 times in like 5 mins!!! much ROFL and LOLing...
the best way to start an anime is to have a solid intro song; with matching video, then as thelonebrit101 says, grab their attention "by the haunches and hump it into submission"

Noein > Started with already one of the most exciting fight/war. Karasu looked espiecally cool with him destroying one of those machines.
Hellsing > Alucard looks really cool shooting the vamp. |

Some beginings I found really exciting
Gundam Seed Stargzer: Ah, the pieces of the colony dropping on Earth is like a disaster movie. The dark animation was perfect for the destructive atmosphere.
Trigun- Really surprising. I though Vash was gonna go gun-fu on the bandits but turns out he had no ammo LOLOLOLOLOL

Kimi ga nozomu emo or whatever its called had a really good opening which just as du5k says explains what has happened in the past, its a bit long but its really good! |
